NFL  > Cleveland Browns  > I see 5-11 AT BEST...Is it too soon to talk about the 2012 draft?

Is there no end to this agony? The Rams? Seriously? I kinda thought Holmgren and Shurmur were OFFENSIVE guru-types. The defense actually not being horrible, for once, should Heckert switch gears and start pursuing some proven O in free agency, or does he stick with the plan and insist the Browns are only a good draft away from decent?

Not if you are the Colts.

Browns fans shouldn't expect miracles. It will take time to rebuild this team.

I don't think anybody expected a serious contender this year, but I did expect the offense to IMPROVE over the abject disaster that it has consistently been for the last 12 years. If anything, it appears worse. That I did not expect with Holmgren taking over operations and a recent NFL offensive coordinator as the new head coach. Pretty poor skilled positions evaluation so far. I'd have been OK with 8-8, happy with 9-7.

That's right they have known since the beginning of the season who was #1 on their wish list and have deliberately thrown the season. I'm even suspect of Mannings so called neck problems, just a little to coincidental, having him sit the season won't tarnish any of his HOF statistics. The question is after they take Andrew Luck; " Does anyone need a Painter"?

That's right and I was going to give them 2 more years but that might be optimistic. Considering that the Bengals got those picks from Oakland and drafted themselves a nice QB and WR, Cincinnati is on the verge of taking over the AFC North. On the other hand Baltimore and Pittsburgh have shown no signs of weakening. You have to first show signs that you can win 60% of your division games before you can be considered a playoff team.

I'm thinking the Browns pass on a QB in this draft, take Blackmon or Michael Floyd or someone at some point in the first round, and take a new RB like LaMichael James a little later. Then give Colt a year, and if he blows it even with some new offensive weapons, then we draft a Matt Barkley or Landry Jones in 2013.

Those are good draft choices, but you are in a division where defense counts.

Sure we can talk about the draft, but you might be wasting your breath and brain cells. Why waste time speculating on what position or what player a team might draft before all the free agents are signed by the end of March. Who knows you might even find a QB like Kurt Warner bagging groceries.

I can identify with the browns as a bengals fan,it seems they're always in rebuilding modes also, but they surprised almost everyone with a 9-7 record and a wild card game, I wish you and WAMU and all Browns fans turn things around next year with yer Draft choices and Free Agency.

I also thought the Browns were going too make some noise this year, but with Hillis being an absolute disapointment this year? really hurt the Browns also.

Narry,
You ? Saying anything good about the Bengals? Is quite a surprise!

and Yep, Cincy got 2 genuinely good players with our new QB and WR, having 2 high drafts? I hope they get a Good CB,OG and RB as the very 1st choices.

Narry,
And i thought that 'conspericy theory' You had with Indy was just paranoia!

You may be right! One things for sure, ifn they do take Luck? I wonder where Peyton would go and what Indy might get in the Draft choices and trading for players this year.

This is true,it's a wish list, and things can change, But yer needs at the moment will be obvious.it just get's down ifn the players still around, when it's yer time too pick.
but we do need[Bengals]
1]CB
2]OG
3}RB
These are my personal choices for picking any of these positions 1st.

Kurt Warner, was a Good QB and there's alot of teams out there that may be interested ifn he decided too 'un retire'. I guess we'll see soon enough.

Hillis was a huge disapointment for the Browns,so i don't think the Bengals would trade for him for personal issues,as we've had way too much of negative lockeroom results.

I don't get interested in the draft until after the NFL combine workouts.
