NFL  > General NFL  > Will DeSean Jackson and Philadelphia be parting ways?

Jon Richie the ESPN analyst says that Jackson was never in the Eagles future plans. He said that there was much more than missing a team meeting that made Reid bench Jackson, he said that in the past many players missed meetings but none were ever benched.

The Eagles are one messed up organization. They are talking about firing Reid, they insulted and disrespected Jackson ( some consider the most dangerous weapon in football). They sunk a ton of money in Michael Vick who in turn pushed out McNabb and Kolb, so the Eagles could be a shining example of the Dungy-Reid Rehab program for broken players.

As it stands I don't think Philadelphia can afford to sign Jackson. Frankly I was mad that the 49ers passed on Jackson and took Chilo Rachael in the 2nd round of 2008.

i doubt it !.........how looong will reid last ?

In T&R I give him 1-2 years unless next year they turn things around and go to the Super Bowl. He definitely will not be fired for this one season, after all he can blame it on a shortened preseason that didn't allow for the team to gel in preseason practice. Someone in that organization needs to explain why Vick was paid so much money.

Yes Jackson will go somewhere else. Lurie will not want to pay him top $$ based on his attitude and character, he will threaten to "Franchise" him and feign interest to get some draft choices or a trade. Jackson will want to go based on recent Eagles woes and uncertainty. Jackson will be the next "Haynesworth" type FA bust.

I really doubt Jackson will lose interest and stop playing like Fat Albert. I look at San Diego and I picture Mike Martz taking over for Norv Turner and Martz bringing in someone like Jackson. Rivers is not to happy with his existing receiving corps and head coach.
