Ok, so Orton returns, rides the coat-tails of the strong D, success in the playoffs then what do you do when Cutler returns? Cutler always seems so cheery and understanding. I heard Houston would be a better stop for Orton.

The Bears are 30th in the waiver wire process based on inverse order of records, the only teams behind the Bears are the Niners and Packers so the chances are slim Orton returns to the Bears.

The first question the Bears and any other team will have to consider with Orton is his contract. According to NFLPA, Orton has a salary of $8.89 million this season. With six weeks remaining, that means he would be owed about $2.58 million by any team that claims him on waivers before Wednesday's 3 p.m. deadline, Is Orton worth $2.58 Mill for a 6 game stretch, depends on the organizations view of him and the teams position at their current Q.B. position.

Stay with Hanie. He's familiar with the offense.

This is really good new for a lot of teams in need of a QB. I'm glad that Orton is going to get another shot with another team. I'm a Tebow fan, so I'm glad he is a starter, but Orton is HORRIBLE and deserves a starting role as well.

IMO Orton is a good serviceable Q.B. in the mold of say a Trent Dilfer, he's not the type of Q.B. that can put a team on his back and carry them but he could win if he had a solid team around him.

If Orton is as horrible as you say then why does he deserve a starting role?

Oops, missed a "not" lol my bad

Jay Cutler can't carry a team on his back either. Matt Forte is the backbone of the Chicago Bear's offense and took a lot of the load off of Cutler. Hanie proved his worth in the NFC Championship game with a strong performance. The Bears don't need Orton.

IMO Cutler can he is on the list of Q.B.'s with come from behind victories but this is a matter of opinion and we clearly disagree.

Everyone sings Hanie's praise because of his performance last year but he wasn't as good IMO as everyone seems to think. I give him credit for coming in cold and and a gutsy performance but he did make a couple critical mistakes, the pick 6 to Raji was a big one. Given some time though who knows I guess we shall see as he is essentially on deck for his career and the Bears playoff hopes are riding with it.

I mentioned the Bears where behind 30 other teams and Orton is a member of the Chiefs now.
