NFL  > Detroit Lions  > The Lions Will Roar on Thanksgiving Day

Shades of 1962 when the Green Bay Packers came into Detroit on Thanksgiving Day. I predict that the Lions will administer the Packers their first defeat of the 2011 season. You can call me a homer but this team is ready to rumble.

Slim,
lots of folks saying this as it is the sexy pick, also SO difficult to go unbeaten that this game for the Pack seems like one they might lose.

Can you give us some specifics why you think this might happen? Pack D is NOT strong, how will you counter the Rogers phenomena? Besides the obvious Suh factor? THoughts?

Last season the Lions beat Green Bay 7-3 and knocked Rodgers out of the game. The Packers OL will have a difficult time trying to keep Suh and company from getting to him. The Packers strength on offense is their passing game as their running game is weak. Stop Rodgers and you stop the Packers.

Yep, all true. I see GB countering with screens and leaving add'l backs in the backfield to chip and slow the rush. No doubt if Rogers goes down (STS) your chances improve. Will Stafford keep a cool head and not take chances, protect the ball and not pull a "Romo"? Good luck tomorrow, should make for a good game. NO DOUBT the fans will be raising the roof on the place.

Hopefully the Packers can get some semblence of a running game to allow Rodgers time to look down field. Last year the Lions stopped them cold on the ground and continually harrassed Rodgers. I hope things are different this time.

You just don't want to see the Packers go undefeated.

I think most people would just so we don't have to listen to all the former Dolphin geriatrics crawling out of the woodwork from South Beach.

I agree!

Really...is there a more annoying group of former professional athletes than that group from the undefeated Dolphins team? I can't wait for Mercury Morrass to bring out his Aaron Rodgers voodoo doll. LOL!!

If the Lions want to win they gotta play turnover free .. If they can do that I definitely think they have what it takes to win.

The Lions are in "over their heads" playing against the Packers. Maybe in a couple years but now............no way! No discipline on the Lions and penalties are "the same old Lions". Game over and for the year.

Who says the Lions will make the play-offs? After the suspension(s) coming.........they are dead meat. No discipline on the this team.
