I just read Rolling Stones "100 Greatest Guitarists" (it's a reworked version of their old list that was just released) and I got really mad. For debate, what are your top 10? Feel free to post videos to help make your point, and please keep it civil. Remember, this is all personal opinion and taste.
Here is my top 10:
1.Stevie Ray Vaughn
2.Jimi Hendrix
3.Eric Clapton
4.Phil Keaggy
5.B.B. King
6.Jack White
7.Duane Allman
8.Billy Gibbons
9.Steve Vai
10.Robert Johnson

It's all in the ear of the beholder. Not everyone will agree on who should be in the top 10 and it really doesn't bother me one bit what Rolling Stone Magazine thinks.

What would your top 10 be?

QUOTE(#6):

You may not agree with my top 10 but it really doesn't matter to me because these are the guitarists that I consider my favorites.

That's that attitude I want. Its dumb to fight over opinion, I created this to discuss great guitar players, not to start a fight.

Dave Mason is a very underrated guitar player. And listen to any guitar playing in Paul Simon's songs. Those guys get rated more for their songwriting but they are excellent guitarists.
