NBA  > General NBA  > Cavs Best The Jazz, Suns Reclaim 8th In West
January 25, 2009, 01:31 AM
It was a closer contest then Lebron would have liked, but the result was one you couldn't argue with, another win over a Jazz team stuck in a slump. The Jazz certainly aren't doing themselves any favors, falling back out the Playoff chase yet again as Nash and the Suns now move back in front to reclaim 8th place in the west.

While the Jazz continue to do numerous favors for the Suns, allowing them ownership of the razor thin tie breaker between the two, LeBron James and the Cavs got the best of them in Utah 102-97. Utah walked off the court with only more frustration while James and the Cavs got the last laugh in the contest.

The Cavaliers narrowly trail the East Leading Celtics in the win column and their not far away from re-taking 1st in the Eastern Conference if Boston happens to slip up in one of their upcoming contests, however given the way Boston has rebuilt its Championship swagger as of late, that doesn't seem very likely.

But second in the East might as well be first if the Cavs continue to play with the kind of agression and killer instinct they are showing. That could prove handy in a likely re-match against Boston in the Playoffs.

Meanwhile, Utah though? not much can be said about them, other then if they really want to be in the Playoffs this year, they better find some kind of magic up their sleeves because with the months passing fast and their record trending downward, that could mean an early off season for the Jazz. And anything short of going all the way for Utah would be considered a disappointment.
