Last Game Day thread before the bowls. Rant, rave, express yourselves.

Quick thought about the late Army vs Navy game. Can anyone schedule a game that late if they wanted to or did someone green light this? It would seem that if you could do it you would get two great edges by having a very late game:

1. You get an extra bye week during the season somewhere
2. The late game leaves you in much better form for the bowls-if Navy had a better season and was to play a 20 or 21 DEC bowl game against, say, NC State would having only 8 days off be much better for your team than having 3 weeks off?

Well, seasons over for us TroyFans. Not that I'm not interested in, say, Bedlam? 'specially if it propels Okie State over Bama, and not cuz I dislike Bama either.

If the BCS NC game is LSU and Bama I think I'll watch sychronized basket weaving, or join my wife in watching some hoarders show. A simple rule that to qualify for the NC game you must be a Conference Champ or independent would solve much of this.

And my Trojans: I give them an A+ for their season. Noone expected much of anything from them, they weren't even ranked. Now they're #9 in the AP Poll and I would put them up against any team out there, including LSU. No, I'm not just being a homer, their offense is that good and their D is getting there. There are NO complete teams out there including the offensively challenged LSU and Bama. USC wideouts Woods and Lee, and TE's Grimble and Telfer make the coverage a nightmare for any defense; speed AND size and lotsa savvy... JMO. And when you get all your coverages where you want them, there goes Curtis Mcneal breaking a long one. Yeah, I truly believe they could hang.

All that to say this; they did real good. They were VERY young and stumbled and Plaxico'd early, but got it rolling. They have never even met Reggie, yet they have no bowl incentive. It didn't stop them against Oregon, or Stanford, or ND. And no, not against the Powder Blue Teddy's either.

Can't wait for next year...

FIGHT ON!

Dental Special for Thursday Night Game:

Toothless players (WVU) vs a team with no offensive or defensive bite since SEP (USF).

And USC did look good and appear to be dealing very well with the bogus NCAA actions thus far.

BTW, probably not alone here saying that the MAC CC game on friday will be a lot more fun to watch than the P12 CC game...

Now there's an idea! UCLA cheer squad in powder blue teddies! Sounds like a fund-raising calendar to me! Tie it to a charitable cause, and that's all the cover you need [nudge, nudge, wink, wink]!

Tonight, WVA at USF. Will West Virginie bring enough to win one that they should? Will USF rise up and make .500? Will there be any WVA fans present who haven't relocated to Florida?

Kick-off's at 8:00 PM ET.

Can anyone justify ranking a BE team in the top ten at anytime in the foreseeable future?

December 1, 2011  12:33 PM ET

Would you attend this game if you lived in Tampa?

Quad...

Ahhh ya think?

Many SC fans think of it as payback for larry scott not supporting them in their NCAA "cases". SC "should" be in the inaugural PAC champ game tho, they are the flagship program and have been since...always? they earned it on the field, but the NCAA is boss, right?

I'm glad if USC is banned from participation that the game is a joke tho, and wouldn't mind an epic upset of Iowa St/Okie St proportions: IOW the Powder Blue Teddys beat the Quakers.

I like it... Only thing to make it better would be some Song Girls and Jello. Call it the battle for LA...

You mean BSU doesn't "legitimize" the BE?

Yes, if BSU joins the BE....

Or late season if they have an undefeated Cincy or UCONN team that played a decent team or two OOC.

Bah, should have read #15. Kinda sorta a very slow ninja job.

Not so sure that Oregon losing wouldn't be a catastrophe for the P12. Stanford might fall out of the top 4 and the P12 goes from 2 BCS teams to UCLA and no one else-and the P12 would then have the fun of watching UCLA stink up the Rose Bowl to boot.

Why not both? Jello'ed up Song Girls in a hot-oil coated steel cage match with the UCLA cheer squad in powder blue teddies-all for charity of course.
