Would Martz leaving be a bad thing? Jay Cutler should show him the door.
The Bears have several players that could have big games this week. Namely Matt Forte and Caleb Hanie. There are others including Devin and the entire defense (Pick one). Anyone looking toward the WR's should be hearing the gray haired Mora saying Wide Reciever!!! Wide Reciever!!! instead of Playoffs in his ears. Are there any Chiefs to possibly worry about with their 3rd string QB Tyler Palko starting?
Then there's the Martz situation he says he is interested in the Ariz. St. job. Are we concerned or not with Jay having to learn yet again another Offensive Co-Ordinator's system. Or maybe even Jay is ready to get a new OC thinking about his recent publicised comments about Martz?
I at least am ready to get a new OC. I just think Martz is being too complicated for his players. I think he is a smart man who is trying to outsmart the opponents when just some simple power football from the 1yard line would get the same job done. I firmly believe in the KISS principle. KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID, which means keep it simple enough for the stupidest person on the team to understand what's going on. After all NFL players are not considered on the average to be geniuses!!!
I think we will win especially considering this one is in Chicago, but I'm worried about how Hanie will catch on or not. Bears 17-14. GO BEARS!!!

without Cutler the Bears have absolutely zero chance ( and it was slim with Cutler) to get past the Packers at play off time

You think the Bears are done this season Pete? Do you really think that Jay is so irreplaceable? Please explain yourself.

You just never know what you'll get with a young backup. who would have thought in '08 Matt Cassell would go 11-5. Or Brady..well you know that story.
Hanie will continue to improve with more playing time and I'm convinced the Bears will make the playoffs as a wild card. Their defense and special teams unit is still intact and the rest of their schedule isn't very tough.

Yep,
I'd take the Bears over the Lions on the WildCard front, just more solid and experienced. We'll see how the Lion's fare with Suh out and the Saints on the horizon...

Frankly I was suprised that Hanie didn't do better against the Raiders. I expect him to do alot better against the Chiefs. And I'm loving this stuff all the Packer fans are saying. Their over confidence is going to help us more than if we get Jay back by the time we might see them in the NFC championship game again this year. GO BEARS!!!

I read this morning that Jay Cutler doubts he will play again this season.

Last I saw, Jay said; "He didn't know if he could come back or not.", but he is in rehab now and giving it everything he can. It is very common for a person to doubt themselves the 1st or even 2nd week of a rehab situation. There have been several players (Carlos Boozer included) who have had simular types of surgery and came back in around 6 weeks. We Chicago fans are more familiar with Boozer thus I named him, but there are several others on other teams and sports who have come back from simular injuries. The fastest rehab one article I read, said 4 weeks!!! There are several articles out there, I encourage you to read them yourself and make your own opinions.
Either way, we might not need Cutler to beat the Packers. If our Defense can hold them to 17 points or so even Hanie, with a month or so of playing time might be good enough to run our offense so that we can beat them. They aren't Gods you know. They are men who put their pants on one leg at a time just like us. They are beatable no matter what Packer fans say. lol.
Remember the more overconfident they are the better for us. So let these Packer players and fans get their big heads. It's to our ADVANTAGE!!! Remember what happened to the Patriots a few years ago when they had an undefeated season!!! If not there's always next year!!! Win or lose I'm always going to say... GO BEARS!!!

I have long felt that the military and sports medicine should work together more frequently on alot of things. (Something I think that the NFL comish etc., should investigate.) Just for example right now with the IED's the soldiers are dealing with alot of concussions and head tramas/injuries. Sound familiar??? MOSTLY only in football and extreme car accidents can simular injuries occur. I'm constantly amazed at how the sports and military injuries are simular. Same thing goes for arthroscopic (knee etc.)surgeries too. It can only help each other to co-operate. GO BEARS!!!
