NFL  > Chicago Bears  > Cheap Ownership Sucks
December 4, 2011, 09:54 PM
This ownership will never spend extra money to win a championship. Hanie is not an NFL QB; when his contract ends this year, he won't play in this league again. At the end of today's game he finally puts together a few passes and hits r williams (another cheap acquisition) in the hands - too bad he couldn't catch a cold. Forte didn't get signed; now he'll definitely get franchised (if he's lucky). Whether you like Martz or not, Jay was finally looking comfortable with the offense, now he's leaving - I don't blame him - management wouldn't extend his contract. It is a real shame. I can't remember the last time I was so pissed off watching a Bear game.

I bet some in other cities like say, Washington, would argue even with BIG money being spent by management that does not equal success.

Just saying

It is not how much money they spent but who they spent it on. Talent evaluation is not a strong point of Bears management.

I for one am very suprised at how poorly Hanie has played considering how he did against the Packers last year in the NFC championship.
Sgt Friday you are right on about the talent evaluation. I thought they might have reversed things with the emergence of Conte at FS and others. Right now I'm wondering if we can win another game this season if Jay doesn't get back. Maybe it will help us get a great player "IF" they can draft the right guy though. GO BEARS!!!

You got that right. It's all about talent evaluation. We got an owner not afraid to spend. What has that got them? A big bag of nothin'!!! The Redskins spend too...same result!

The real problem is we are stuck with it (Cheap/Incompitent Management)and can't do anything about it. GO BEARS!!!
