NCAAF  > General NCAAF  > ENOUGH, you lost to the IOWA STATE CYCLONES
December 5, 2011, 12:49 PM
I could be wrong but never have we had a National Champion that lost to the Cyclones.

Cowboy fans that is the way it should be, and you'd agree any other year.

Enough, you beat one good team all year-and you have a home loss.

Works both ways.

Too bad this situation won't change the way it is handled in the future.

That is what is really sad, this stupidity just continues year after year.

Iowa State had a good year on the grid iron (relatively speaking). My hearty congratulations go out to the ISU alums on Team Got Beer. Ride Right!

Depends, if (as I kinda expect) epic crap ratings result from this then people WILL take notice when money is removed from pockets-even if it is only future money from future TV contracts.

If Bama's loss is to a 6-6 Vandy (SEC Equivalent to IOwa St.) do we an argument.

No way......

Yah, but Bama didn't beat the same number of ranked teams, lost at home, and didn't win its conference. Add that together with the bleh of a rematch and you can probably see why folks are upset.

And do you get in if the name on your uniforms was Vandy? Seriously if Vandy did exactly what Bama did and won/lost games by the exact same scores would they be in or would the "man" Gundy be in. Face it, name recognition/Saban respect was a big part of why you are in.

All that and ESPN's talking idiots all saying these are the only worthy teams to be in the game....what a bunch of BS!!

I doubt I'll even watch this game.

To quote Hyman Roth, "This is the business we've chosen".

The BCS formula worked. It took all the data and spit out two top teams. Everyone knows how this works.

You can pick any football championship year and I could argue for or against the eventual 'crowned' champion for that year.

I hope we have two or three years in a row of rematches in the BCS championship game. That may be the only way I can get my 8-team playoff.

It was using data made up by people who are influenced by things they shouldn't be using in the formula....as Armpit noted Bama's history along with Saban's influenced to some degree the voters, as did ESPN's talking idiots. As they say **** in, **** out.

But that's the system we've created. Again, I'm hoping this frustrates enough people to finally get a playoff bracket of at least 8 teams.

December 5, 2011  04:41 PM ET

I agree this is the system we have, and it sucks. I thought the general idea was if you can't even win your own conference, how can you be National Champs? AND, not only did Bama not win their conference, they didn't even win their DIVISION in their conference!!!

And since Bama and OkieState are essentially tried, let OkieState have a go.

Again, what a bunch of BS.

December 5, 2011  04:48 PM ET

Seriously...LSU will kill Bama it will be nice to Drink Scotch Whiskey all night long!

ND-USC

I wouldn't have thought we'd ever have a NC that lost to Kentucky wither, but 2007 LSU lost two games in overtime to mediocre teams and went to the NCG.

But this isn't the first time. the Sooners played in the BCS Champ game after they lost their conference championship game.

So, we all know this is a possibility.

and the SEC offered a 4 team/plus one play off going forward in which THE BIG 12 and PAC 10 said no way jose.

sweet revenge......

Nothing personal TM...just using your post....

So many of you have been saying that ISU wasn't that bad a team...actually quite good as they had a 6-6 record....there are a LOT of 6-6 teams that you guys have also bashed as being bad.

December 5, 2011  09:42 PM ET

All of this could have been avoided if Ok State had won the games they were suppose to win. All of Bama's victories were by more than two touchdowns. Many of the opponents were undefeated, and ranked when the games were played. We didn't win our conference or division, but we still have only one loss. Bama shoulda, coulda, woulda won the game against LSU, but didn't. No one else has even come close to these two teams. Like it or not, the system worked this year. Enjoy!
