He may still be a great hitter for the next 3-4 years, but not for the life of this contract....IMO
Wow... the Angels? Never figured on them even being in the running for AP.
And C.J. Wilson to boot...

Thank you, Albert! Need help packing? LOL
It's always about the money 'cause the Cardinals offered him a good deal...

I know the Cards did the best they could. I was a tad angry at Pujols for all the lies he told but I'm moving on.
I was a Cards fan before Pujols and I'm still a Cards fan!

Like the man said, "Show me the money!"
The man said "It's not about the money"! Big difference

I agree, which is why it doesn't bother me that he's gone. What does bother me is the fact that he's still lying and the man is delusional if he thinks the STL fans "still love him"

Not only is Pujols leaving St Louis he is leaving the National League. Putting the money aspect aside is this a good signing for the Angels. He will be 32 in January, and did he screw the Cardinals over $50M, a lot of money. is there any loyalty in sports anymore?
He did not screw the Cards...$50m over 10 years is a lot of money and I can not blame him.
And, I can not blame the Cards for not signing him to such a stupid deal.
The Angels will be paying for this sometime around age 36...from 36 to 42 he will get 177.8 m dollars! That is stupid money to give to an aging super star...
StL will rebound from this...Pujols only gave the Cards 5-6 extra wins per season and by getting Wainright back, he gives them back half of that.
If they take the dough and go after a Carlos Beltran or even Prince Fielder, they will not miss him 1 bit.

BTW...for the record, the Cards offered him 5yrs and $130 million to start...that was a fantastic deal for both...because the Cards had him at 26m per season DURING his prime years.
Now, with the Angels giving him 254m over 10, I can not blame Albert because it is VERY likely his production will drop and he wont be worth half of what he is getting.

Now Jeff! You know that 5 year/$130M deal "offended" Albert and Dee Dee so much...........
*I happen to agree with you*
