Because the KS program isn't in love with their BS traditions which creates bias and tunnel vision in decision-making.

Gatorsports.com also listed Brian White, UF running backs coach; Jedd Fisch, University of Miami offensive coordinator; Al Borges, University of Michigan offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach; Todd Monken, Oklahoma State offensive coordinator; Mike Shula, Carolina Panthers quarterback coach.
I think everyone listed are great candidates except Shula who is considered the favorite. He has had no success as a OC at any level. IMO he is riding the success of Cam at the NFL level but Shula had little interaction because of the lockout. Warren Moon should be credited with helping Cam be ready at the next level.
