NFL  > Pittsburgh Steelers  > Matching Up Against The Broncos. How Do The Steelers Do?
January 4, 2012, 09:34 AM
A blog Article I wrote about this sundays game against Denver. I've got a bunch of stats and such that explain all of my opinions and such. In a nutshell, the Steelers certainly win but because the Offense is so banged up from the season long injury plagued Offensive Line + Ben's bum ankle + lack of running back depth... it won't be a blowout. Something like 17-13, 24-13 sounds about right

I think it will be a close game as well, but I don't see tebow running alot this game..if he does, he could find himself concussed...lol

Pittsburgh has a short week, playing on Saturday, they travel to Denver, one of their players won't make it because he has sickle cell anemia, severely affecting his play at altitudes. Do we ever know if Roethlisberger is healthy, how can we trust him, he denies everything. Then you have your key running back Mendenhall out for the rest of the year. Fear not Pittsburgh, Denver is only in the playoffs because no one else from the AFC West wanted to be there, Oakland choking down the stretch and San Diego forgetting once again that the season starts in September. I'm sure if the Broncos had their druthers (losing their last 2 games) they would rather be fishing or vaccinating people in a 3rd world country.

The Steelers should win this one.

a 60% Ben is better than a 100% Batch. There are a lot of ifs tagged to this game. Denver CAN win folks, don't think for a second they can't. However, IF all the IFs fall in alignment for Pittsburgh, they should win easily.

You know:

IF Troy , Harrison and Brett all play.

IF Ben is able to make it thru the game WITHOUT throwing INTs.

IF the Steelers can still establish a running game with Redman and Clay.....

Broncos don't have a prayer of winning this game.

The Steelers and Broncos play on Sunday, not Saturday. Clark is not the only player out in the secondary. --Pouncey is looking iffy and Harrison, Keisel and Polamalu did not practice again today. It looks like those three will play, but who knows.

Roethlisberger denies everything? Hardly. If anything, he plays his injuries up. This game will be a challenge for at least a while.

Do you ever make a comment that makes sense?

I'm sure everyone,at some time or another, have said too themselves or too another,'Ain't no way, that's gonna happen',and then? It does? By all means, The Steelers should, and probably will beat the Bronco's, But ifn anything this season has shown? Just about anythings possible. I didn't think the Bengals would go 9-7, As they were picked mostly, winning just 3 or less games this year, So,anything's possible and ya take it 1 game at a time.So being the 'perrenial underdog',does surprise once in awhile. So don't take any game for granted, just ask the Bengals of 2010.

If I weren't a Steelers fan, I'd agree. As a Steelers fan, to me a good game would be 49-0 Pittsburgh. At halftime.

Nah, they've made the playoffs since then. I think the Bengals will win Saturday. 20-10, something like that.

My main concern is penalties, they've played 2 games with over 100 yard penalties this year.
ya can't win getting pushed backwards by the Zebras, put them in the game and the other team getting the benefits is a loser just about every game you'll play.so thier main issue is penalties as i see it.

True enough. They might be a little bug-eyed at first, but they've shown a lot of sand this year.
