We have lost out on TWO possible GM's. DeAcosta from the Ravens has turned us down, and McKenzie from the Packers has signed with the Raiders to be their GM. How could someone prefer the Raiders to the Bears GM job? Wasn't he offered the job? Sure we still have the fallback choice of Pollian, but isn't he a bit like knowing we could get Martz at the last minute two years ago for the OC position? GO BEARS!!!

The Bears are not that attractive to many potential GM's because they feel that they would merely be a puppet of management. McKenzie supposedly will have complete control over football operations in Oakland.

To me, the best way for the new GM to prove himself is to get either Vincent Jackson WR FA from the Chargers 6'5" 230lbs, or Alshon Jeffery WR at South Carolina 6'4" 232. Or absolute best scenario BOTH!!! With a Pass rushing DE and a starting CB!!! But I know I'm dreaming then. GO BEARS!!!

If you critically look at the personel on this team we really have alot of good to better than average players. Add in that proper coaching and playcalling can protect a weaker OLine, and we might be able to adaquately use Webb at LT for a season or two. There are alot of other positions that could be helped by better play calling too. Even some players on defense can be helped with timely called blitzs. Just not too often which would allow the opponents to take adavantage of the tendenancy to blitz.
We despirately need however better Wr play, a continous pass rush, and a cornerback that isn't constantly picked on. (Watch both GB and the NO games and it becomes obvious.) Granted the less time an opponent QB would have to throw with a better pass rush would help the CB position, but I think we still need a major upgrade at CB.
Some people are saying we need to improve the Safety position, but I for once think we have got the players we need at Safety on the team to get this job done. Chris Conte is the best Free Safety that we have had in a LONG time. Where as Strong Safetys are much easier to find, and we have several young talented ones on the team that with some more coaching in my opinion should be able to do the job. GO BEARS!!!

Why not? Caleb Hanie is obviously the answer at QB.
LOL!! Obviously!!!
Well we could make Mike Martz the Head Coach or GM. Or wouldn't you consider that to be worse? GO BEARS!!!

Anyone else notice that these Packer fans want the Bears to fail? Whenever a Packer fan says someone is bad etc. I always say GET THEM ON THE BEARS!!! Because if a Packer fan doesn't like him he must be good for our team! GO BEARS!!!

You guys are just so predictable. I really get a kick out of your see through antics. I hope your Packer coaches are so see through and predictable when we get a team together that can give you a challenge on the field. If not this year next year and it will happen. But for now, we Bear fans have to root for your opposition to feed you crow. lol. WE WILL RETURN!!! GO BEARS!!!

The Oakland Raiders are interviewing Tice for their head coaching job, if Tice is offered and takes it then Lovie is back to square one and looking for another O-Coordinator.

I enjoyed the Saints vs Niners game the most as it was the most exciting one of the playoffs. The other three games were very boring to watch.

Tom Clements would make an excellent OC.

The Raiders are throwing up a smoke screen...
Winston Moss will be next Head Coach of the Oakland Raiders...there is a better chance that Tim Tebow becomes the Commissioner, before the Raiders don't make this hire...

One would think McKenzie would look to G.B. to fill the head coach roll but no one really knows but McKenzie himself and if Tice impresses stranger things has happened.
If for some reason Tice was to leave Chicago it would show just how messed up Phillips is as it would put them right back in a situation similar to 09 when they had trouble finding an OC due to the uncertainty of Lovie's job. With Phillips keeping Lovie and forcing him upon the G.M. finding an OC to take the job will be similar due to the fact their is a new GM and the only stipulation Phillips put forth was to retain Lovie for the 2012 season which essentially could be a 1 year stint if the new GM decides to put his own people in place
It's one of Phillips flaws in retaining Lovie while Firing and replacing J.A. both new GM's so far has fired the current head coaches on the teams they now reside over because most GM's want to have their own candidates in place to go along with their philosophy/vision in which they have for the teams future.
Phillips runs the Bears like a business and is money oriented/driven just like Toub getting a new deal without a G.M. in place the same could be done with Forte if Phillips wanted to do so. But letting the new GM take the heat for it focuses the attention away from Phillips and on the GM while Phillips tells the new GM how much he is willing to spend on a new deal.
It wouldn't surprise me none if Forte was not extended a new contract especially if he is seeking Chris Johnson type money, to many holes to fill on the current roster. Phillips mentioned getting Forte a new deal was a priority but one thing you should know with the Bears is they usually say one thing and do another, most thought this was JA but it comes from higher up Phillips.
