Cites alcoholism as a root cause. It's really too bad. I guess money can't buy you love, or happiness, or guarantees of security. A lot of Lottery winners can tell a similar story. Also makes you take stock in your own life, and realize that these people who are on a pedestal are only human, and they have every-day problems and demons that the common folk often battle, and worse sometimes. I hope he recovers his health and career. Smart guy, Boalt Hall grad. Best wishes to him and his family, and anyone else going through similar trials and tribulations.

I know a lot of people who never hit rock bottom so they often continue til death. Usually self medicating themselves from the other demons, a true vicious circle. I say this as I am puffing a lefty and thankful it is my only vice.... besides beer and whiskey, occassional vicodin (for the back)
a wee bit of cocaine in the 80's.........oh...COFFEE!!!!

this was a shocker..... yes, many loto winners end up this way as do many athletes, but most lack the intelligence of a guy like leigh. bad business partners and addiction can bring down even those at the top of their fields. hope he can turn things around...
