All this talk of Jon Jones possibly joining the ranks of the greatest 205 pound fighters of all time got me thinking about who are the greatest of all time.

Here is how my list would look:

1) Wanderlei "The Axe Murderer" Silva
2) "Dangerous" Dan Henderson
3) Ricardo "Brazilian Tiger" Arona
4) Mauricio "Shogun" Rua
5) Quinton "Rampage" Jackson
6) Chuck Liddell
7) Antonio Rogerio "Minotoro" Nogueira
8) Randy Couture
9) Tito Ortiz
10) Kazushi Sakuraba

What do your lists look like? Who do I have overrated? Who did I leave out?

Nice list DJ.

Very respectable for someone who is relatively new to MMA to know those guys, usually you just hear "1)Liddell, 2)Ortiz, 3) Couture" ext from guys who have only started to follow the sport recently.

Arona #3 or even top 5? Haha, ok.

Where would you put him?

He beat the best 205 pound fighter in the world in the Pride Tournament, then in my opinion he beat him again in most peoples eyes for the crown.

He beat Fedor in Rings as well, I really don't understand how judges gave that fight to Fedor.

Throw in the wins over Ninja (in his own prime) and Dangerous Dan, Sakuraba and Ubereem (2x) and I think that he has earned the number 3 spot.

Gotta go:#1 Dan#2 Shogun#3 Rampage#4 Liddell#5 Wandy Not bothering with the rounding out the top 10.

Chuck over Wandy? That would be a tough one to justify I think.

The two wins over Rampage, Sakuraba, the six year title reign in Pride?

He has the most fights in Pride history, and never lost a fight under real Pride FC rules.

His title defenses are better than Chucks too in my opinion. Is a win over Jeremy Horn worth more than a win over Yuki Kondo? I don't think so.

I also think that Babalu and Tito compare unfavorably at that time to Rampage and Minowa.
