He worked with the Falcons and the Saints before going to Denver. I am excited about the prospect of him becoming coach. From everything I read, he will bring much needed discipline to this team.
According to two members of the Packers organization, its common knowledge that Packers coaches and executives who move on to bigger and better opportunities are instructed to leave the Packers staff alone.
So don???t expect a similar staff raid like when Tony Sparano was hired by the Dolphins, and lured numbers members of Bill Parcells former Dallas staff to Miami according to Omar Kelly of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.
That type of staff raiding his frowned upon in Green Bay, which perceives itself as a family more than a franchise.
"Off limits," one of the sources claimed. "Joe's going to be building the core of his staff from outside."
Philbin skipped attending the Senior Bowl to get his family moved to Miami, and to hire his staff of assistants.
Probably why even though many thought McKenzie might go after Winston Moss he ultimately went outside the Packers Organization.
Joe Philbin knows Packers staff is "off limits"
The Raiders have always done it the Raider way, and have always tried to keep it in the family. Reggie McKenzie played LB most of his career as a Raider, and Winston Moss was right by his side at LB...when he went to Green Bay, Moss was hired.
Maybe they are trying something different now the Al Davis is no longer their, I wish them the very best, except when they play the Bears.

It might be a little different since McKenzie and Moss both played for the Raiders. They might make an exception for those two, should McKenzie want to bring Moss over.
But it seems like all signs are pointing to Allen at the moment.

If Allen is hired, it would be the first defensive minded coach since Madden. I'm kinda intrigued by that correlation.

Same here.

I suppose this means that I'm no longer a candidate.
Yo must not have made the cut over here either?

Over-Under 100 penalties for the season. Place your bets.

I think the Raiders are headed in the right direction. Reggie McKenzie is a shrewd judge of talent and I expect he will make all the right moves. It looks like sunny days in the near future for Raiders fans.

Under!
Please?

It will be difficult initially due to lack of draft picks and cap space. But I believe McKenzie is fully aware of the challenges he faces and will figure out a way to make room to fill in the gaps. I'm not expecting an instant turn around, but I agree that things are changing in Oakland, for the better.
Just so long as he can return a lot of much needed discipline to the team. Raiders already have good talent. They just need someone who will insist on a Commitment to Excellence again and not just pay lip service to it as Hue Jackson did. Bring that commitment back and they'll be a force to recon with once again.

He made a mistake in hiring this coach...what he is saying is that we are rebuilding, instead of re-loading. The Raiders have a good core, and should have reloaded instead of try to rebuild.
Looks like they may have a long season next year.

I think he made the right decision and this team should show steady improvement. McKenzie is a very savy personnel expert and learned under the great Ron Wolf.

That 're-loading' idea did not work out so well for Al Davis in the last 27 years.
Time to clean house, gut the place and start fresh without the ghost of Al lurking.

How does the idea of Carson Palmer being the starting QB sit with the Raider F.O./fans?
Is he the answer for now, foreseeable future, or make a move for someone else?

I think Palmer derserves a training camp and at least a couple of games to see how he performs next season. As for the penalties....please instill some discipline on these guys.
