In other news: Broncos denied permission to talk to linebackers coach Richard Smith for the DC position. Bill Williamson at ESPN says potential coordinator candidates may now include former San Diego defensive coordinator Greg Manusky and San Francisco defensive backs coach Ed Donatell.

I'm not sure. It's good that Knapp worked with Allen before (Atlanta) but he could never work McFadden into the game plan like Hue could and did. And I find that interesting on DMC because so many people talk about Knapp as having a run first mentality. Some guys on one of the Raider boards talk about power rush vs power block being the issue with when he was here before and that DMC didn't do well in the power block scheme but Hue was power rush and that's when he excelled. All of that is a little over my head - I just want to see results on the field and hope that this change doesn't set the offense back when it was just starting to move in a better direction.

And I'm leery on trading DMC because you know if we do he will have the best year of his career 100% injury free...

Correction: zone blocking vs power blocking and DMC didn't do well in the zone scheme

denied talk? i thought if a move was considered lateral than they could refuse. this would be a promo.
and if we could remotely resemble what SF did in their secondary this year with ours next year....i am all for that. what a hard hitting group.
knapp has done well since the JMR era. so has my dog. he now poops in his yard w/o me yelling at him! (point is, anyone on earth would fare better after sir purple drank left the raiders)

LOL!! Nice analogy.

I think Donatell would be a better fit than Manusky. But that's just me. As for the lateral move denials, I'm not sure. But I'm okay with it because I really don't want a complete Bronco staff on our team. Ugh.

I'm not sure how I feel about the changes so far. I'll wait until the full coaching staff is assembled and see what it looks like.

Funny, as Raider fans we should be used to change. But this time it just feels different.
