Jaworski was due to get the boot. I never cared for his commentary.

Agreed. There aren't many quality announcers anymore. I think Daryl Johnston is one of the better ones.

What happens if Gruden gets an offer he can't refuse, to coach again.....

I'll go halfway with you on that Meredith was a great football announcer,Cosell was an ignorant loudmouth of a sport he didn't know much of and a bad hair piece,He would wnader into boxing and other sports while announcing MNF and Meredith basicaly told him too shut up.

Can't disagree with your assesment of Cosell, but he brought something to the booth....at least in the early years, that was kind of unique. Brash, arrogant, and always obnoxiuos, he called it as he saw it. He wasn't afraid to go against the flow. "Jockocracy" was a term he used in his book, to protest the entiltlement of ex-players, to become broadcasters. He could be caustic, and we all loved to hate him, but I always tuned in. I remember watching the game, when Howard broke the news of John Lennon's death. He did the moment....Justice!
