I always liked him. I know he did a lot of clinics to teach women about football. He'll definitely be missed. I hope JJ does something good in remembrance of Coach Joe.

QUOTE(#2):
who was he ?
Back in the day when the Cowboys were winning Super Bowls in the early 90's, he was the special teams coach.
:-( He was with the Raiders for a few years. Also coached at Oregon State.
RIP

I remember him. He sort of had long gray hair and always appeared excited on the sidelines when one of his players made a great play.

The man was highly thought of around the NFL for his passion and dedication to the game. We need more coaches like him instead of bozos like Greg Williams and Sean Payton.
He was one of the genuine "good guys" around here... a class act beyond the football field. As TxHeat noted - he had clinics for women explaining the game. He was honest to a fault. He was hilarious with stories... and he LOVED country music.
We Cowboys fans have had a few favorites over the years and he was one of them.

I recall him up and down the sidelines, ranting, his long gray hair parted down the middle bouncing up and down as he shouted expletives. Great personality and coach. Sorry to see him pass so soon. Gotta take care of your health and see the Doc.

Yes Otis, he was a very unique individual that was very competitive but also very likeable and was appreciative of Cowboys fans. He is gone but not forgotten.
