MLB  > General MLB  > OZZIE GUILLIEN YOU ARE FORGIVEN
April 10, 2012, 03:49 PM
You know what every time there is a revolution some ones toes are going to get stepped on. In this case there are a few hundred thousan Cuban exiles in the US that are still fighting a war against Castro and his government, a majority of all the Cubans that were on the island stayed and are quite content. Because China and Canada support Cuba do we resent these two countries and discontinue business with them? No. Maybe MLB should move out of Canada since the do business with Cuba. I think a lot of the people that fled were supports of the Mafia or their puppet government of F. Batista. Any surprize that once most of them fled to Florida crime rose dramatically and 20 years later the largest drug cartels in the world had roots in Miami.

Why was it so important that the CIA and the Chicago Mafia joined forces to assassinate Castro?

Cubas major present day allies- China, Canada, Venezuela, Bolivia. We have trade embargoes with Venezuela and Bolivia. Why not China and Canada?

Cuba under Castro has 99.8% literacy rate, better than any latin or caribbean country, they have a low infant mortality rate, each female averages 2 children, and the life expectancy is 78 years old, which is higher than the US.

So...you feel Ozzie should be forgiven because now that all the Cuban criminals are in Miami, Cuba has become an agrarian utopia with literacy rates and life expectancies that surpass those in the U.S.? And the great humanitarian peoples republic of China should serve as a role model for the way America does business. Are those the suggestions you are making? Just tryng to clarify what it is you are saying....

I will not abuse you because you are an uneducated clueless fool, although I am tempted to.

Personally I have no problem with Ozzie because I'm sure that he did not mean to hurt the feeling and demean the beliefs of 50% of the Marlin's fan base. He has always been an emotional clown with a propensity to shoot his mouth off. I believe he was trying to express admiration for Castro's skill at surviving and did not communicate this clearly. I believe Ozzie is miserable because of the people in Miami whom he has distressed with his comments.

What's holding you back? You say you are tempted to abuse me. Is that a common trait of yours to abuse others that you disagree with or can't comprehend?

Although I am an American I think most Americans are hypocrites.

I never called China a humanitarian country- now you are putting words in my mouth- I'm saying that how hypocritical of U.S. consumers that they support China by buying goods from China, yet China is a major supplier to N. Korea, Iran, and Cuba. I guess it doesn't bother Americans that buy junk sold at Walmart ( who made their billions by selling garbage made in China ) are in a round about way feeding terrorists in Iran.

The only people that still holding a grudge against Castro are those that lost material possessions and Real Estate during the revolution, Mafia, Jews, and Cubans that flourished under the Batista regime. Cuba was the Las Vegas of its day, only with 10X the corruption. Vietnam and Cuba are very similar in that neither one wished to be an enemy of the U.S.A. it was lobbyists in Washington that propagated the fear of Communism, Vietnam only wanted independence from France, France handed the U.S. their problem, If the CIA and the Mafia hadn't tried to kill Castro then our relations with Cuba today would be a lot different. It did not take Vietnam long to repair relations with the U.S., sure they could have held a grudge but they didn't. Something Cuban exiles refuse to do.

Cuba like I have said has benefited much more under Castro than Batista. True the people have suffered in some ways, but when Cuba no longer feels the threat from the US relations will begin to begin repairing and Cuba's economy will flourish, as long as US interests allow Cuba to call the shots. The US should be more interested in helping and being a role model for all the countries of the Western Hemispere ( North and South America )
