Jalen admits that UM would lose most games vs Duke, but says the Soph5 would beat UNC 9 of 10 times.
Jalen needs to watch that game again. Webber played VERY well vs Montross, forcing him into a HORRID game. Eric and Derrick Phelps had BAD games, not to mention Dante Calabria. UNC wins that game more often then they lose. UNC had MULTIPLE all-ACC players, UM had ONE first-teamer- guess what conference is stronger in the early 90s. Yes, I know Michigan beat them earlier in the year on a final shot. The Fab Five NEVER beats that Duke team, Kentucky might have an argument that they win a good many times vs that Duke team, but bottom line. UM overachieved BOTH years to make the title game.
OK, rant over. But Jalen is just as honest talking about the NBA, and does name names, when possible, including taking shots at the great MJ, when needed. His co-host does a solid job on the podcast keeping Rose on point, and they have a solid repore. I hope Rose stays where he is. His voice would be crushed by Barkley and the TNT clones. He might be good with Wilbon, as Wilbon tends to defer quickly to ex-athletes, even if he disagrees with it later or in print.
