ahhh...hahahaha. making the playoffs would be a nice positive step. As long as they smack the Giants in the mouth the first game of the season I'll be happy!
we can dream.... and beating NYG in the opener - that's a tall order. wish dallas opened against another team in Sept cause that's practically a 0-1 start w/out a doubt.

They do have a tough schedule. It will be interesting to see them play Cincy with Newman in the Bengals secondary. LOL!

I'm going with the upset. NY will still be fat and happy. Cowboys solve Eli and Murray runs free all day.

hoping you're right, but this group doesn't win many "big" games. now, NY does seem to get stronger as the season reaches december, unlike our cowboys... as december for them is a flashing red lite that says, "season nearly over!" regardless, i'd not place a bet on this game unless dallas is getting at least 2+ TDs.

Very interesting...Romo has burned Newman more than any QB in the league. :) Seriously, he certainly knows Newman's weaknesses more than anyone facing him every day in practice for years...not that Newman is anything close to a pro-bowl quality DB anymore.
Way too early to call their schedule "tough" though. This is the NFL. What looks tough on paper in April often proves to be a cakewalk once the games begin, and vice versa.

That is a bit unfair considering by December there wasn't a healthy RB or WR on the team and the only decent DB's were hurt too. Dallas couldn't have been expected to dominate much of anyone by that point.
I like Dallas' chances against the Giants in NY better than in Dallas. For whatever reason, the G-Men have been a piss poor home team/very good road team most of the last several years.
Look at their two Super Bowl runs. Wins @Dallas and @Green Bay then neutral site in Super Bowl in the first one. Wins @ Green Bay and @ San Fran then neutral site in Super Bowl in the second one.

They didn't have a decent DB from day one, but you are right about the RB's. When you have get Sammy Morris off the couch you have a big problem at that position. Robinson did very well at WR, too bad they couldn't keep him. Dez needs a big year. If he continues to be inconsistent in this his 3rd year he should start being considered a bust.

C-C-C...this is supposed to be a fun thread poking at all the new people that sign up here and bring up seriously oldass threads.
I know you're a Cowboy homer like me, but please take this way too serious talk somewhere else.

i wasn't just talking about last season.... the past 10 seasons dallas is 16-27 in dec/jan for a .372 win percentage. most fans would agree, that's pretty poor!
