I was recently portrayed on YouTube by some of my dear blogers from the Si.com network site FanNation as the idiot of the year, but after reading a quote from Mike Tannenbaum I'll will step down and give up the crown.

The quote: 'He is our backup quarterback. That's how we're listing him. That's how we're going to carry him on our roster. That could be more like, I'd say, a subtle tiebreaker, knowing he has unique skill sets and athleticism. In terms of how we're looking at our strategy, he's clearly at quarterback for us and that's how we're listing him."

I'm a fan with an opinion, nothing more or nothing less, I'm not an ex-jock or an expert football analyst, again I'm just a fan with an opinion so I'm going to interpret that statement as a fan who has been fallowing this DISMANTLING of Mark Sanchez.

Is there anyone in the the world who thinks that Ryan and Tannenbaum got Tim Tebow to New York and displayed him to the media as the catch of the century just to make him a second string back or a situational player.

How many second string QB (and a mediocre one at that) can get a media tour like the Jets prepared for Tim Tebow.

Let me answer that for you . NONE period.

The more I read the quote the more I'm certain that Mark Sanchez is toast as a Jets QB, lets take it line by line:

"He is our backup quarterback. That's how we're listing him. That's how we're going to carry him on our roster....."

Listing him as a back up means nothing, Mr. Tannenbaum should of said that Mark Sanchez is his starting QB, period, in my opinion he didn't say that because he already knows his starting QB is Tim Tebow.

Lets continue.

Mr. Tannenbaum must be looking at a new strategy, I assume a custom fit to Tim's run Tebow run (and a few throws) talent, maybe they got the Broncos old playbook.

I understand Mr. Tannenbaum graduated C laude so maybe he feels he is smarter than the average bear, he may also believe that waging the dog will lead us into beliving that Tebow did not get hired to be the starting QB for the New York Jets.

I want to be fair with Mr. Tannenbaum, he may really believe what he is saying, if he does, he may be the only one in the country to do so.

Enough said.

You've been around here long enough to know that Yoda doesn't refer to just anyone as "moron". You should be honored, at the very least, that you were even included in his latest video.

Lets break down the comments in reality mindset. First off, I am not a Jets fan but being a Giants fan, would love to see the Jets play well and maybe have a NY Super Bowl. "He is our backup quarterback. That's how we're listing him. That's how we're going to carry him on our roster. That could be more like, I'd say, a subtle tiebreaker, knowing he has unique skill sets and athleticism." What GM would not think this? The Broncos got a 4th round pick for him where the Raiders got two first round picks for Palmer. That speaks volumes that every team thinks he is a backup. He can run a spread offense which is actually different than the wildcat offense. Everybody thought Palmer was a starter, nobody at the pro level thinks Tebow is a quality starter right now. Down the line, who knows maybe he can be a quality starter. Can he fill in a few games, yes, but he will not start 16 games unless Sanchez gets hurt in the preseason.

Of course he has to play QB since that is the only position he has known for a long time. Tebow can not learn the TE position at a NFL level that quickly plus why would you put your backup QB in a position that would increase his chances of getting hurt when he would not touch the ball? That would be stupid. Every team needs a decent backup QB in today's NFL and Tebow is a solid backup who has started in the past, which can only help in the future and just as important, he will get some carries and maybe a pass or two in every game, which will keep him in better playing shape than almost every backup in the league since practice can not reproduce a game situation.

The jury is still out on the trade but what transaction made in an off season has the jury been settled on. Even Manning, is he healthy enough to play 16 games? Nobody knows right now.
