Kos/Hendricks decision was trash. Easy 29-28 Kos.
Did the judges somehow forget by the end of round 1 that he rocked him against the fence and beat him around the first minute because Hendricks was busy not hurting him and failing takedowns the last 4?
QUOTE(#8):
Hendricks easily won the 1st 2 rounds. Not sure what fight you were watching.
I can't see how anyone gave him round 1.
The only real significant action of the fight was the flurry of action after the first exchange when Hendricks rubbed his eye. He threw more shots, but rarely hit him in the first frame, and had multiple takedown attempts stuffed.
Maybe I'm nuts though, I'd be open to change my mind if I heard a good enough arg for Hendricks.
I saw a graphic at the start of the 3rd round I think that had Hendricks outstriking Kos by over 2 to 1. Hendricks was throwing a lot and landing a lot but I think Kos was hitting harder amazingly enough. All that said, I think Hendricks won but would not have been surprised to see it go the other way due to the fight ending with my fellow Ok St. alum eating punches on the ground.
QUOTE(#12):
It was 57 to 23 in total strikes after 2 rounds. Significant strikes were 41-19 for Hendricks too.
Thanks Jim. I knew I'd seen it but couldn't remember the numbers. I was glad to see the eye poke wasn't a deciding factor in the fight. I don't think Kos would have gotten as close without it.
