NFL  > Atlanta Falcons  > Guys, you gotta read this!

I just saw this on a website online. It's just a rumor for now, but it's an interesting one for Falcons fans. Here it is:

How would Tennessee tackle Albert Haynesworth look in the middle of the Falcons' defense? According to a Nashville City Paper report, Haynesworth is not happy with the pace of contract talks with the Titans. Haynesworth can become a free agent on Feb. 27. If the two sides can't work out an extension, Haynesworth, a former Tennessee Volunteer, has said he would like stay close to his Knoxville home. That makes Atlanta and Carolina possibilities. -- Atlanta Journal-Constitution

So....how great would that be? We would then get our main concern on defense out of the way, a run stopping DT. Man, I would LOVE to have Haynesworth, that would be amazing.

Would defiantely be amazing, but lets not get our hopes up. He's got a pretty hefty price tag.

Well, Thomas Dimitroff already told to one of the Falcons insiders that the Falcons have the money to spend on any Free Agent out there this year, so I doubt that money will be an issue. He would obviously become the highest paid DT ever, and maybe even Defensive Player? Not sure, but yes, he will get paid, but Dimitroff said that won't be a problem. I bet they rather pay Haynesworth big time money, and know what you will get, rather then paying a 1st rd. pick DT big time money (not the same ofcourse, but still 1st rd. money), and not know what you might or might not get. So my guess is that if Haynesworth really wants to play in Atlanta, Dimitroff will find a way to get him signed. We just gotta hope now!

Haynesworth would be a nice pick-up, but I'd rather them spend money on beefing up the secondary.

When you build a team you start from the inside out. So no you dont start at the secondary. U start at tackel to help our Abraham cuz Haynewsworth would demand more double teams than Abraham and then Ab would be a sack machine. We pick up Albert then we get secondary members in the draft.

This guy has had 2 good years, and before that was known as lazy and disruptive... so what is he going to become with a big fat contract with about 40 mil guaranteed!

Damn, hope the Panthers D-staff takes a serious look at him, with Peppers leaving and lewis having surgery this week he would fit in nicely

da_ego, lots of players change over time and mature. Haynesworth is a perfect example of that, and he has been a DPOY candidate for the past 2 seasons now. Plus, if it worked with a Diva WR like Randy Moss, it can work with a DT.

All I am saying is, true players mature, but players also know how to get paid... and with him saying as much in interviews, there is that risk that he shows up to camp at 400lbs with a cane talking about his bad leg... and kicking his own center in the chest, which happened this year!!
Moss was a front runner, if he wasn't playing for one of the best teams, he quit, while childish and pathetic, you can see he is just a bad sportman... but anger control issues, and constant talk about "getting his" that is one serious red flag...
