MMA  > General MMA  > Cruz injured. Urijah Faber to face KEN FLORIAN for interim bantamweight title at UFC 148
May 9, 2012, 02:07 AM
While fight fans were crushed by the news earlier this week that the UFC 148 rubber match between bantamweight champ Dominick Cruz and longtime rival Urijah Faber was being put on hold after Cruz tore his ACL, there is nevertheless good news for both men.

White revealed that Cruz will remain in his coaching role opposite Faber on The Ultimate Fighter Live.

He then revealed, in somewhat of a surprise, that ???The California Kid??? will remain on the UFC 148 card on July 7th to fight for the interim 135-pound title against multi-division competitor and UFC analyst, Ken Florian.

"I am thrilled to be fighting for the title", said Ken Florian on the May 8th edition of Fight Zone. He then added, "I categorically deny any involvement with Cruz's injury or with that dirty tramp, Tonya Harding."

Haha. This one's for Jim.

Damn site. Sorry about double-posting this bogus story.

I just hope Jim sees the title and falls for it for at least a couple of seconds before realizing it's bunk.

I'm expecting Dana to confirm Renan Berao vs. Urijah Faber for the interim title withing the next couple of days.

Nice one Yoda, made me think for a second.

And Renan is the best choice they have, that should be a great fight.

McDonald looked fantastic in his last outing but I think you should have to be able to legally buy a drink before you can fight for a UFC strap lol. Guy looks like he's 12.
