Even knowing the dangers players face during play I'm still an avid fan. While channel surfing yesterday I came upon a high school football game being rebroadcast on one of the local PBS channels and sat rapt watching what was left of the game. Severe injuries or not, I'll still be watching the game.

HA!

Can't the liver heal itself?

You know, back in 1968 I was involved in a car accident and suffered a head injury...took 10 stitches to close the gap. Now years later I suffer from CRS. Could just be old age though. :P

Parish priest always liked to open the sermon with a humorous story. One day a long-suffering wife of a drunkard husband to her hubby by the brewery one night to tell him that no matter how much or how fast he drank the booze he'd never catch up with the brewery output. He looked at his wife and drunkenly said, "Maybe not, but I've got them working nights!"

The NFL is doing a good job at preventing uneccessary hits to the head. The game is a violent one, so there will be injuries, some with long term effects. That's why they get millions to play. And they know the risks.

QUOTE(#9):

(Sometimes when I reflect on all the beer I drink, I feel ashamed. Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery and all of their hopes and dreams. If I did not drink this beer, they might be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. I think, it is better to drink this beer and let their dreams come true than be selfish and worry about my liver.) -- Babe Ruth --

That is a great quote.
