Confused me for a moment this morning, oh expired currency. Like the new football-hiatus boards. Swing batter!

Good morning, oh purveyor of domicile siding. A worthwhile diversion, following the road to Omaha. By the time the CWS is over, it will be less than nine weeks of summer til kickoff.
Really really refreshing to see someone caring about NCAA Baseball.
Received an email blast from Dave Serrano, new baseball coach for the Vols. Both attendance and revenue were up. Best turnout in 2012 was for UF's visit. Tennessee's baseball program should return to form in the seasons to come. "Hotter than a pepper sprout." Yeah, buddy.
Stratton on the mound today against Samford. Not sure I would have used him for this game, but perhaps it will work out....

Yah, not much to say for me until the BCS "solution" is announced and the preview mags are out. For the CWS rooting for USD, CS Fullerton, Arizona, and Baylor.

Which to you prefer? B1G of top four CC's or SEC/BigXII* with top 4 teams?
And how to select the top four? Committee as seemed to be preferred by SEC/BigXII* or some sort of poll/computers?
I was originally for top 4 CC's, but am leaning more toward the top 4 teams as selected by polls. I just think if it is a selection committee for just 4 teams it would leave way too much opportunity for complaints....IMO

Should be "B1G's idea of.......or SEC/BigXII* plan with....."

If there are only 4 teams then top 3 CC's and highest ranked other team seems like the best solution IMHO. It would be better with 8 (top 6 CC's and top 2 otherwise) but 4 is better than 2.

I was thinking 12 team. Then you could reward the top 4 CC's with a bye, but then also include the other top teams to fill out to 12.....starting 1st weekend in Dec and be done by Jan 1....

I remember on last year's CWS thread you were bothered that a team finishing 6th in their conference (Cal) had a chance to win the NC. With a 12-team CFB playoff based on polls in 2011, you could have a 4th or 5th place SEC finisher (Arky or SCar) playing for the NC.
I think the more-the-merrier idea only works to a certain point, but not sure what that number would be. I don't think you have to go 12 deep to be assured of including the best in the country, though.

Didn't take long to drag this thread to the gutter. You started this, Armpit. It's your fault! ;)

Serrano is a quality coach; disciple of Augie Garrido. And no stranger to Omaha.

Well, a 6th place team in a 64 team playoff is a bit different than a 4th or 5th place team in a 12 team playoff. IF the SEC can place a 4th or 5th place team in the top 12 then power to them....and that would go for any conference if they could get 4 or 5 teams that high

Watched the last 2 innings on ESPN3. Tough outing for Stratton. Only 4 HRs all season until today.
If Samford has some more pitching, the Noles better watch out.
Watched also....great game until the 7th when Samford hit 3 out....we'll have to see how they do now that Basford is done for a few days....but they sure can hit.
Looks like, NOT. Oregon just tied it in bottom of the 9th
QUOTE(#19):
Nope. Oregon scored 2 runs in 9th. Crap
It wasn't pretty. 2 walks and a HBP to load the bases, then an infield hit and a booted ground ball to score the 2 runs.
