NFL  > New Orleans Saints  > GREED IN THE NFL - DREW BREES
May 31, 2012, 07:11 PM
I have been Saints fan for over 45 years. I love the Saints. I have been there in good times and bad times.

I was shocked when I seen a website collecting money to keep Brees in New Orleans.

Yes Brees is a good quarterback. That???s all. It???s a game. The Saints offered him a contract several months ago to be the highest paid quarterback in the NFL. That was not good enough for Brees.

As you know in NFL contracts as the years go by the player gets more. Brees wanted that reversed. He wants the money in beginning of the contract.

I do not care how great you no player has ever has ever had that type of a contract ever. EVER.

If the Saints are willing to do this they are sacrificing future draft picks, future free agents and more.

Do not give him what he wants.

Give him 1 of 3 opions

1 - Play with the Franchise tag and shut up.

2 - Go back to the original that the Saints offered him. (it would have made him the highest paid QB in league)

3 - Sit out and don't get no money. See how much his wife will like that.

He came to New Orleans on a 60 million dollar contract. So that would mean he made about 30-35 million off of that contract.

Now with all of the money he is making from television commercials and the being on the cover Madden Football, yeah Brees is hurting for cash.

All this is, is keeping up with the Jones. Since Peyton got that big contract he wants his to be larger.

Remember during last season he suspended the contract talks. it was for reason.

It was all about 2 things LEVERAGE AND GREED.

BREES IS SHOWING HIS GREED EVERYDAY HE SITS OUT.

I USED TO LIKE HIM.

They should cut him NOW! So what if he is the most important player that organization has ever had.

In case your interested.
Drew was in town a few weeks ago and he drives a white Hummer H2 with a huge Saints insignia on the back window.
And his license plates read "BRESSES"

How?

Brees signed a franchise tender before and then almost had a career ending injury. He told them that he would never sign another franchise tender again. I understand his point of view, and if he does sign the tender it will make him look weak...he has to sign a long term contract...they just have to find the right number for everybody.

Wonder why he thinks he should be the highest paid player....he's not the best player, he's maybe 4th behind Brady, P.Manning, and Rogers.....

He wants his non-guaranteed contract front-loaded? Sounds smart to me.
