MLB  > Milwaukee Brewers  > Milwaukee Brewers "Death Trip"
June 27, 2012, 03:31 PM
Been following the Brewers this year......nothing to write home about. Team just stinks (injuries are MLB wide, so you can't use that all year), and of course they're not the only ones. BUT...I got too thinking. A new owner, new stadium, and one of a few teams that can draw 3 million a year in attendance. What's wrong with this picture? Poor leadership in team management.....poor leadership in player management.....or just a poor farm system and player selection/drafting.

A. Lousy ownership
B. Lousy management (Team)
C. Lousy management (Coach)
D. Drafting and farm system failures
E. Lousy team effort
F. All the above

Brewer fans, speak your mind, but I actually haven't seen many here at FanNation.

Personally, I'm thinking "D" and "E" at first glance. I don't know up front what ownership has in the bank to afford better players, so I can't blame them right now. The coach can only motivate so far, it's up to the players in the end.

LOL, not expecting any Brewer fans here. I'm pretty much the only guy who follows them regularly on FN....and that's saying a lot because I'm not a huge baseball fan. Just when the NFL is out of service.

@Ro$$.....Agree, from what I've learned off and on since following the Brewers again the past few years, it's usually pitching and lack of timely hitting. Today was a perfect example. Bases loaded, no outs, and no runs. This happens WAAAAY to often with this team. Half the team is batting 50-100 pts (Weeks and Morgan to name the obvious) below last year. Greinke is the team ace, and no one else at the end of the roster (Marcum and Wolf) looks all that inspiring other than Fiers. I'm waiting to see who they dump to start rebuilding for next 2 years or so. Ugly year. I don't like relying on the long ball either, but I guess this is the way they want it.

It's kind of funny how SI, for no reason, randomly jets comments which are NON OFFENSIVE. "Ro$$..Ro$$"'s comment was fine, then it was gone. Unless of course he/she decided they didn't want to be seen here as the only other Brewer supporter....soooo they had it taken off themselves, or by a friend. That's how bad it is being a Milwaukee Brewer supporter. YIKES!

I noticed your Favre comment on the "Rumors" revolving album.......figured you were fine. Glad you paid of the extortionists at SI.

Since SI switched to the new FACEBOOK (feces) ,TWITTER (twits), YAHOO (Yawn) format(s), not much conversation has been going down around the different MLB "Fan chats" these days. I wonder if SI got a financial boost by selling out to the money changers of these companies......

In 1953, the Boston Braves became the first major league team in 50 years to relocate. The team made its home in Milwaukee, and in 13 seasons, never experienced a losing season. In its first year in Milwaukee, the Braves drew 1.8 million fans; setting attendance records in the major leagues' smallest market. In 1957 the team won the World Series. Makes you wonder.......

Remember the record 12-0 start in 1987? Them were the days.....

....then there's Mr. Baseball. When he's gone, well.....the team is really gonna feel it.

Be interesting to see if Ryan Braun finishes the All-Star voting a starter or bench warmer.

Marlins in town for a 4 game series. Something different for a change.

Milwaukee Brewers
WAR Winning Percentage: .496; Current Winning Percentage: .462; WAR Wins: 39; Current Wins: 36

The Brewers are just seven games out of first place in the NL Central, so a good week could put them right back in the race. It seems a bit early to concede that Zack Greinke will be traded considering how weak the NL Central has been and how good the top four in Milwaukee?s rotation are. If they do fall out of it, the Brewers will at least get a ton back for Greinke, who will likely be the most sought after trade piece at the deadline.

This was posted on the 2nd, and at the moment the Crew is in the midst of a 4 game winning streak. But after seeing the bullpen CRASH last night, giving up 9 runs.....I expect the inevitable.
