NBA  > General NBA  > Do the Kings deserve a new arena?

The Kings were quite a force in the league from 1999-2005. Since then they have been in rebuilding mode and haven't been able to put up a squad that can win any games or draw ticket sales. If you compare how it was then and now it seems like a ghost town.

Only the hardcore care as everyone else is scared that they will look bad rooting for a team that might lose. Listening to the announcers try and find positive things to say about the team as they are losing can sometimes be awkward.

There's been new stadium talk over the past few years but the money just isn't there. They aren't selling nearly as much tickets as they used to, have dismal TV ratings, and have very little merchandise sales... bad all the way around.

Should they even be thinking about a new arena? If they had one would it make them a better team? What will it take to bring the Kings back to greatness?

There's another blog up at the moving screen about it @

The Moving Screen

They've got some young talent but haven't been able to put it together on a night in and night out basis.

I could see this team ending up in Seattle, if that city can get it's act together to build a new arena before Sacramento does.
