Jim,
I just wanted to take the opportunity to say that you were right. Weidman is the real deal and made Munoz look really bad.
Who do you think they'll throw to Silva next? I know Weidman and Rashad have both called him out this week.
I hate to say it but my judgment gets really cloudy when it comes to former OK State wrestlers. Sometimes I just think they're better than they are I guess lol.
QUOTE(#7):
I really think Weidman deserves the shot, but my guess is if Lombard wins his fight vs Boetsch, then he gets the shot. Not sure who they give Weidman next but it would have to be a guy like Stann, Bisping, Belfort or Belcher. And when he beats one of those guys they won't be able to deny him his shot.Rashad would be very interesting but now he's saying he wants to stay at 205.
I know Bisping has rattled his gums (what's new??) about taking the Weidman fight for #1 contender. I'd like to see that one just to see him lose.. again.
Sorry about the Randy thing lol. I have this guy at work that likes to bash Couture now that he's out of the sport and I get touchy about it. I hear you though, for every Randy Couture to come outta the program there's 2 Jake Rosholts or Shane Rollers...
QUOTE(#10):
Hendricks is doing alright. You know I'd like to see Bisping fight Belcher or Stann next, but Weidman-Bisping would also be fun to watch, because Weidman would mangle him on the ground. I'd also like to see Vitor fight Bisping because Bisping would go to sleep in that fight.
Yea, Hendricks is doing well but he's surviving on power and hoping true technique grows in later. I'm with you on Bisping taking Stann or Weidman next. Any thoughts on the Rampage Texiera fight?
QUOTE(#13):
Man, that is real interesting. I'm pretty sure the fight stays on the feet, and it comes down to Rampage being motivated or not. If he is, I gotta take Rampage. He's got better boxing than Glover and his chin is made of iron.
I see your point with the Jackson-Texiera fight but I honestly can't see Rampage giving that fight his all. First, he'll be fighting a younger, faster opponent that he'll have to train hard for. Also, I don't see him wanting to give zuffa any sort of a show since he's leaving under such poor circumstances.
QUOTE(#18):
Bisping vs Stann, kind of what we thought. I'll take Mike there. Better technical striking, much better grappler.
It's strange, I think of Michael Bisping as an MMA version of Curtis Martin (NFL RB)- He wins and takes a workman's approach to his craft but is completely unremarkable to watch. Bisping has the wins but when you watch him, it seems he's nothing special, just like Martin. Loudmouthed or not, I just don't find him entertaining to watch, unless Hendo is dropping a Flying Forearm of Death on him. When he's finally done, what will people think of his career?
