Santonio Holmes unbelievable catch

Maybe too unbelievable

See, when we watched it live and saw the replays we couldn't see conclusively that Holmes got both feet down or that he didn't. (We weren't watching in hi-def.

But what we could see is that he had his feet slightly crossed

And we wondered: How can you get both toes down when laid out with one foot on top of the other?

Rob Schumacher, one of our photographers working the Super Bowl, captured the play: This is the moment that Holmes gained control of the ball, his right foot is not dragging on the turf and for the very reason we doubted it was possible - the right foot is blocked by the left.

look for yourself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's the reason why they don't use still photos to determine plays. You can start your photo anytime you want. Control of the football was made when the right toe was touching and then as he fell forward his feet crossed. The sad part about this is that this was a great football game and the way the Arizona press and subsequently the fans are are complaining is an insult to your team and your fan base as a whole. You lost because you were not the best team for most of the game, with the exception of the ten minutes or so when your offense woke up and found some holes that got you in the end zone. But, it took so long for your offense to wake up from the first quarter on that your defense had no juice left to stop Pittsburgh.

Ahh no, the Steelers are and always will be the Super XLIII champs, now stop whinning about and go get a job!

February 5, 2009  08:47 PM ET

The only evidence I have to look at is the 6th Lombardi sitting in Pittsburgh that the SuperBowl champs own...Do not dimish this game and the hard play of the Cards with a bunch of sniveling about the refs. It went both ways and at the end the Steelers had more points that is how real life works...The Cards played hard and put everything they had into it.....If you think otherwise, go tell them that "they slacked" and "did not leave it all out there"....Fans like you are pathetic...I am glad you are not a Steeler fan.......

As a fan of niether team..... TOUCHDOWN!!!!!! Stop crying and do better next year. Your D had them 1st and 20 deep in their own end with 2 minutes left. They didn't get the job done....PERIOD!

Well I was rooting for the Cardinals (Eagles fan,) and when I saw Holmes TD I thought "He didn't have his feet down." Then I saw the replay from every possible angle and saw that he did and said "man I hate Pittspuke, but that was a great catch". My point is - Just accept the fact that the Cardinals didn't win. They had many chances to get it done (Int at goal line, returned 100yds,) and they just couldn't execute. The Cardinals had a great season. If they can fix up their Defense, maybe they'll be back soon and actually win. Don't blame the refs for your loss, as they have a very difficult job to do. They have to ignore any fanhood they had in the past and make the correct call, which from umpiring baseball games (different, but similar) is hard and the fact is that people will always question the calls.

All good points

Pathetic - Every time the Steelers win a Super Bowl some whiner has to come out of the woodwork and complain. I'm not even a Steeler fan and it annoys me. Great Game - Great efforts on both teams.....don't be a poor sport.

your wrong want to throw down about it?

February 6, 2009  11:41 PM ET

maybe get a high def TD moron and stop crying

February 6, 2009  11:42 PM ET

"cardinals should have won the superbowl!!!"

Yeah, and I should have swimsuit models at my beck and call. Reality sucks huh?

February 6, 2009  11:43 PM ET

OK.. Everyone and their mom has seen the catch more than enough times. No I am not a Pitt or AZ fan but that was the BEST DANG CATCH IN A SB!! There were ample of opportunities for both teams to win it and the Steelers did what they had to do to win. Holmes = great catch = Game over. No last second fumble... no his toe was not touching... HE CAUGHT THE BALL! If you want to stir stuff up then ask why #92 on the Steelers was not ejected for punching and pushing an opposing player who did nothing? Why has the NFL not done something about that kind of crap? Odds are nothing will happen either.

The feather plucked Cardinals had the Lead for about a minute. That means the Steelers had the lead for 59 minutes. Where the hell do you think the Cardinals did better. WHAT WERE YOU WATCHING? SIXBURGH IS ON THE STAIRWAY TO SEVEN

In special teams your taught to hold a would be tackler until the whistle is blown. In this case Harrison #92 would not allow Francisco #47 off the ground so that he wouldn't have a chance of getting up and tackling the punt returner. As mentioned for the zillionth time, you can punch with an open hand. Harrison hit him in the back of the shoulder pad so Francisco didn't feel any pain, just the embarrasment of getting his **** handed to him by the Defensive Player of the Year. You stinkin Cardinal fans should can the punter for standing there and doing nothing when Harrison was making Francisco his ****. What game were you talking about ping pong?
