Former NFL wide receiver Sam Hurd has been arrested in San Antonio after federal officials say he tested positive for marijuana use.

Using illegal drugs would violate the terms of Hurd's $100,000 bond that kept him free pending his federal drug conspiracy trial. That trial was to have begun in Dallas on Monday but has been postponed until Oct. 9

hey tex......who was he ?

He was a Cowboy WR then went to the Bears a few years ago, at which time he was arrested for attempting to purchase with intent to distribute coke from undercover federal agents in Chicago. He was also charged with possession of drugs in his vehicle here.

Is aspirin a drug? Alcohol? My ex wife's cooking (actually it was poison...yikes)...? Just legalize personal use of pot, or make alcohol illegal seeing it kills thousands more of us.

This is not the topic to discuss legalizing marijuana. The idiot was on $100,000 bond and still felt the need to use illegal drugs.

It is if people are getting pinched for MINOR use of a controlled substance, and then MILLIONS go to a bar and get a "buzz" or worse. It's called common sense, nothing more.

Okay... but this guy was told he could be let out of jail if he adhered to the terms of his bond.

It's not minor when the consequences are forfeiture of a $100k bond and return to jail. Dude is facing federal charges that could land him in prison for a very long time - he had an opportunity to be free prior to trial and he blew it for some weed. Sad.

Nancy Kerrigan's brother wants back in jail because he doesn't want to honor the conditions of his early release. <alcohol counseling and anger management> He'd rather serve out his sentence. Could be this knucklehead is too weak to stay away from weed and wants jail to help him. <I know...I'm an idiot>

Okay, I see where you people are coming from. My angle was "what's the diff" scenario, which there isn't one when looking at the obvious...whose hurting who here. What people do in the their own crib (lol) should be their business as long as they're not bothering anyone.

LMAO! That, and she was a "Mama's girl" too. Ugh. The first time we went overseas together as a military family, she freaked out by the 2nd day. Had to send her home less than a year later, and that was that. Some women just can't live without their mother.......YIKES!

Legalizing "use" is one thing (which I support)...

But this fool is going to jail for massive distribution. That's different.
