NCAAF  > General NCAAF  > Honey Badger Dismissed!

OMG! Les Miles Dismissed Tyrann Mathieu for a violation of an unspecified team policy. Will LM stick to his guns, what policy, what does this do to the BCS NC picture, if anything (LSU still the fav w/o the H Badger?), and about a jillion other questions.

Straight out of Left Field for me, I didn't have a clue HB was a trouble maker for anyone but the other team.

I defer to LUS.

Evidently HB knew about this.....from what I understand he was looking to transfer already

Like D2 said over in TnR, good to see Le Smiles do what needed doing, and turn the kid loose. Hope the young man learns from this.

Looking to transfer? Meaning he won't play this year (unless at a JC/NAIA or somethin), and he will be eligible in the 2013 draft right?

Drugs maybe (he failed a D Test and was suspended in 2011)? That's all I can think of, but props to Les if there was a good reason, and I s'pect there was (you don't kick a guy like that off w/o one.) Takes some Cajones to dump a big play guy like that when you are in a NC hunt, unless someone higher up the ladder gave an ultimatum.

With Morris Claiborne a Cowboy now that leaves the Tigers kinda thin at CB I would think; maybe even leave them a little susceptible against Bama (McCarron, 147 QBR) and Arkie (Tyler W, 148.4 QBR) who have good QB's. Maybe even against Washington and Keith Price, who's a better QB than the other 2 (161.9 rating) but not on as good of a team. Thing is Wash is Sept 8 and wierd stuff can happen in those early games...

He could go play for North Texas right away, couldn't he? Then he could play LSU in the opener.

Wow. Wouldn't that be something!

This was probably his last year in college anyway. He'll be drafted come spring. In the meantime, might as well play.

And just like that, his Heisman hopes disappear in a cloud of smoke.

C'mon, LSU always has an FCS school on their schedule. Towson, then.

Hats off to Coach Miles for doing what was right. They are still loaded and they're probably better off without his drama.

August 10, 2012  05:45 PM ET

LSU does deserve some respect for this. All american in two spots gone.

Does that mean you turned into a roach? Just kidding weed guy.

Actually it has been a long time (1997 Charles Woodson, Michigan) since we have seen a DB win the Heisman.

Sometimes Mary Jane can get in the way of a promising career, just say'in.

I say legalize it, its a harmless drug to adults, where as whiskey can make some man blackout and turn violent.

Similar to what Tim Walton did at UF in softball. Favored to win it all, he booted 3 of his best players just before the regionals started.

Walton's decision really helped Bama, could be Miles is doing the same thing. Have to admire thier cajones.
