Next Monday the real big names will get cut.
Sadly the list usually includes some great player that has reached their end.
don't fret,.....some teams might wait till after week-1 to ''re-sign'' these cut players so their salaries aren't guaranteed for the year, [aka = get pd./week to week].........plus they have to trim rosters to from 80+ to 53 by end of week.

he was fun to watch at Tennessee the first couple of years, and seemed like a good replacement for MvNair. He wasn`t a good QB so much, but he found ways to win, and I think he had a good winning percentage there.I`m not sure what went wrong with him, but he seem to fall out quick, and went all knuckleheaded, lost that job there, and has been crap since.
Hey Jim....McNair could play circles around Young, in my opinion. Tennessee screwed up, releasing him for VY.
VY and Jeff Fisher had a personal conflict, or something. VY got all sullen with a "poor poor pitiful me" hang dog look, and he ain't been right since. He's had ample opportunities, tho.

I agree, he was no Steve McNair at all ! He had a similar playing style, that made me think he was a good replacement.I have to wonder if VY is right in the head, ya know, after that whole deal at the TiTans, that was some strange behavior!
I thought he might be good, being that he went to Texas, and won the national championship the year he was drafted, but that really means nothing in the pro ranks. Marino never won a SB, and we all know how good he was.
I think you're right about his time with the Titans. He became mental, and had some strange behavior for sure. He made a fool of himself, a public fool, and that's hard to live down, and he likely never will live it down.

that was an awesome Championship game that year !VY has continued to be a fool since then, the stuff he says, and his play on the field, look at his time with the Eagles, bad play, and running his yammer hole.I didn`t even know he had wound up on the Bills, but as soon as they got another QB, he was out of there.
Yeah, well, college games are somewhat different. I think he was spoiled there, and faced the real world when he went to TN, and couldn't handle it. Just my opinion tho.
He's turned into another T.O., so to speak, thinking the world owes him, and it's the world's fault that he's where he is now.

thats a good point, and could be the case, but teams only put up with TO for short times because of his skill level, VY`s skill level is so low, nobody will put up with him.
I think he could have been good.........but, with the conflict between him and Fisher, I think his confidence level got shattered and never was ............repaired? But, being the BMOC at Texas, and not being one now, is likely his main downfall. He couldn't handle not being the center of attention.
T.O. is a different thing. He can no longer do as he once did. He still believes he can, tho. He still believes that he's Superman.

Vince Young was a star at Texas but couldn't adjust to the pro game. His decision making is very poor and that is an important thing for an NFL QB.
I'm still a bit confused as to why T.O. got cut, did edwards just out preform him?

A lot of roster jockeying going on with teams trying to get down to that final 53 and injuries sometimes plays a key role in how a roster shapes up. Some of these "BIG NAME" players just have to face the fact their careers are winding down and or their glory days are over....LOL
T.O. dropped some easy catches and Edwards played much better. With all the baggage that T.O. brings he really needed to shine with the opportunities given to him and he just did not do that.
Deion Branch was a huge surprise for me. The Pats bring in 3 veterans, each having previous success with Brady in the past, you figured they would keep one of them. I think they wanted Gaffney the most but he just wasn't healthy. They could re-sign him later in the season when he is ready to go.
