Get rid of it. Bring over the top fighters. Woud've really helped with this UFC 151 debacle.
I agree with everyone else, it needs to be folded. Send male fighters to UFC or release em to Bellator/ONE FC. Either create a female division in UFC or let the ladies head to Invicta but SF is a sham right now with no one taking the fights seriously because everyone knows that they don't mean a dang thing in the big MMA picture.

I agree. And I personally don't think there's a place for women's MMA. I really don't.

Rousey says otherwise and she'll kick your ass if you disagree...

Yeah, I'm not particularly a fan of ANY women's combat sports.
But whatever. Not my call.
QUOTE(#12):
I thought the Tate-Kedzie fight was great the last SF card. And like I said, I thoroughly enjoy Rousey's fights. There is a place for women's MMA. Check the ratings out on the last SF card.
I don't have a logic counter argument on this one.
There's just something that makes me uninterested in women's MMA, even though it's the same sport.

She'll get into my closed guard?
Strikeforce is doing pretty good on its own. Showtime likes it, and to be honest, its nice having a promotion where Dana isnt in charge.
QUOTE(#11):
Don't agree ZG. Why do the fights need to mean anything? Why can't they just be entertaining. I hear this all the time from people. "The fight doesn't mean anything." Its BS. Do you guys watch NFL regular season games in week 1? Cause they don't mean much. or NBA regular season games in November? Or do you guys only watch the playoffs. Now you said release some of these fighters to Bellator. Why? Won't the fights in Bellator/One FC be meaningless too?I enjoy SF cards immensely because I'm a fan of MMA. I watched the Challenger cards, I watch the Bellator cards, I watch as much MMA as I can. If we only watched "meaningful" fights we'd watch about 1 third or less of all MMA.
the only disagreement I have with this is that sometimes, when a fight "doesn't mean anything" it can show in the performance....when a fighter is there just to collect a paycheck with no hopes of a shot at a title, you can kinda tell...same as when 2 fighters that aren't interested in fighting each other can have a really dismal showing and all the fans boo...you can also get this when a fighter has one fight left on a contract they don't want to finish...they show up, meet the contractual obligations but show no heart in the fight...they lose nothing because they knew it was their last fight anyway...

but in general, I tend to watch the fights for the fights, not for the names...which is why it bugs me when people want rule changes....if people are true MMA fans, they will watch the sport for what it is, not for what they want to turn it into....

I see your point Jim, for the most part. I enjoy MMA in whatever form I can get it. I'll enjoy a King of the Cage fight from 2004 as much as a UFC main event as long as the fighters come to fight. I'm really hating the business side of the sport that is emerging where fighters believe they are businessmen and guys are starting to try to protect their record instead of taking the hard fights. It's a shame.
Also, the NFL comment isn't really a fair comparison. All regular season NFL games count for A LOT. The one game often determines playoff seeding or even getting into the playoffs at all. A more accurate description is the 5 month 162 game long snoozefest that is the MLB season. No one pays attention until after the all star break because the games before don't matter. Like the SF fights don't matter. I wasn't saying move the guys to Bellator for the fans. I said move them so that they have a chance to move towards upwards instead of fighting the same guys like the SF champs have done lately.
Finally, I agree with you about Rousey. She's fun to watch regardless of gender. My gym is trying to get her in for a seminar. Going to listen to Eddie Bravo this Sat in Denver. Should be fun.
