"Sounds" nice. How does Ray-Ray see SD as his best fit ? Did he explain the rationale behind this staement (alleged) ?
If REY MAUALUGA falls to us at 16 - it's a MIRACLE - and the 15 teams ahead of us who pass on him are idiots. Now there would be a nice unit. MERRIMAN, LEWIS, MAUALUGA, PHILLIPS. If 56 will listen to anyone, it would probably be LEWIS. How much is in his LEWIS' tank ? Will he sign an incentive/performance heavy contract ?
If we got MAUALUGA, then I would say talk to LEWIS. Also, RESIGN MERRIMAN ASAP.
It's slightly more plausible that BJ RAJI - the big NT from Boston College - will fall to 16. That would be SWEET. I have been waiting for a replacemnt for JAMAL WILLIAMS for the last few years now. Grab RAJI if MAUALUGA is gone (as I expect).
I think both guys are likely to be gone before 16. If so, BEANIE WELL, KNOWSHON MORENO, and LeSEAN McCOY are three good RB's that may be staring AJ in the face.
Let JAMAL work with RAJI (if we get him) - and come in on a backup basis. Big 76 would still be nice to have around - he just has too many miles & too many surgeries for me to count on him to make it a full season. Time to find the new STUD to plug the middle of our 3-4 DEFENSE.
Also - how about some DEs that can RUSH the passer ? Come on AJ. MATT SHAUGNESSY, DE out of WISCONSIN, in Rd-3 would work for me....reminds me of JARED ALLEN a bit...

Ray wants to stay in BALTIMORE, but that is easily overidden by the almighty dollar. He did an interview at the Pro Bowl where he "gushed" about playing for the JETS.
Ray in a mercenary. He will go to the highest bidder unless it's literally only a few thousand dollars difference - then he probablly will follow his heart - his "D" coordinator went to the JETS....

CRABTREE and BOWE sounds like a pretty dang scary combo of WR's- assuming CRABTREE matches his pre-draft hype. THIGPEN could develop, but I'm not overwhelmed by him either. I would go with THIGPEN over a CASSEL or SANCHEZ scenario though. Both have minimal college experience and don't show me enough to draft SANCHEZ at #3, or give up more than a 4th rounder for CASSEL. SANCHEZ at round 2 (with your 34th pick) seems too high for my taste.
If Iwas a CHIEFS fan, I'd have a wait-and-see attitude on my new HC, but I'd be optimistic in my teams future base on PIOLI's track record. Still, was it more the BELICHECK "system", or more PIOLI ?
It will be fun watching you guys attempt to rebuild towards greatness.

I'M SURE EVERYONE HERE HAS ALREADY HEARD THE COMPARISONS - but JERRY JONES is starting to act and look like AL DAVIS - the difference is that AL DAVIS once was a football person - now he's just bitter, old, and quasi-senile.
JERRY JONES ? ....appears desperate, and semi-senile already. He's keeping WADE PHILIPS around just becasue of money. It seems clear he in not HC material. JJ needs to be an "owner" only. Hire a great GM, and a good HC (like SHANAHAN). If JJ can stop himself from de-evolving into a Meddling Al DAVIS, Dallas has real hope of winning another SB in the near future.

Im having a gut feeling Sproles will be a Chief next year.He was a star here at Olathe High many moons ago.Would be nice to see him back in KC.

Yes. I believe SHANNY would win at least 1 SB with the talent currently in DALLAS.
I'm not a COWBOY fan either.
However, I don't "feel" SPROLES will land in KC. The going home factor is a good storyline, but KC has a LOT of needs ahead of a SPROLES role player.
SPROLES would have good success in KC or DENVER - but probably more with DENVER. They had one of the top OFFENSES last season with a decemated running corp - add a SPROLES to that offense and the ZONE BLOCKING scheme - and it would be pretty scary.
Still, I don't see SPROLES going a full season as a FEATURE BACK. He is best as a #2 back and change-of-pace / situational mercenary.
