NFL  > General NFL  > Niners vs Packers

22 years have passed since the 49ers were victorious in Green Bay and of the last 14 games played between the two teams "The Catch II" game was the only win the Niners have. This is where it ends baby! I think our Defense will do enough to slow GB and our special teams will set the stage for an upset. I also think Vernon Davis will have a good day.

The 49ers offense will be the difference maker in this game. We know that GB has one of the best offenses and SF one of the best defenses. GB will most likely put up somewhere between 17-24 points. The question will be whether or not the 49ers can avoid mistakes (GB causes a lot of turnovers) and put up some points behind Alex Smith. I still question whether last year was a fluke or not for him. If we see the old Alex Smith then I don't think the 49ers can win this game.

Jim Harbaugh has said that the 49ers have been game planning for this game the moment the 2012 NFL schedule was announced. Greg Roman the Offensive Coordinator seems giddy to say the least with all the offensive weapons and the possibility of having quit a diverse offense. The 49ers have been very secretive of all their practices allowing only limited press to view the practices. The defense should be sound, the only questionable player will be Aldon Smith who missed most of the preseason with a bruised hip and will now have to settle in to the starting OLB. On the offensive side of the ball the 49er offensive line will switch Alex Boone to RG, we will now once and for all find out if Alex Smith learned anything after visiting throwing coach Tom House in the off season. Alex Smith has seen limited preseason play, he never threw a ball in the final preseason game. The few select media that have watched him throw in practice have said that they have never seen him throw as good as he has been throwing. The other questions are; How big a role will Randy Moss play, or for that matter Mario Manningham? Have Smith and Crabtree developed a symbiotic relationship.? How potent of an offense will it be with; Moss, V.Davis, Crabtree as receivers and Gore running the ball?

I think Moss will have his name called a bit this year, but Manningham should have more success. I think having Manningham and Moss on the team will allow Crabtree to be a better reciever. With his improvement last year and other targets on the WR chart, I am excited to see if he can be the top 10 draft pick he was suppose to be.

Tripple post! Alright..

I'm interested to see how Moss plays. Every time I hear anyone talk about him they only have negative things to say. Moss can no longer lead an offense but he does not have to. Manningham is questionable as well. Besides the big catches in the superbowl he was a shell of himself last year.

It can be the sloppiest game of the season... as long as SF chalks one up in the W column, it's all good.
