NFL  > Oakland Raiders  > Raiders are EMBARRASSING
September 11, 2012, 01:44 AM
WOW! What an EMBARRASSMENT on Monday Night Football. The offense looked inept with Carson Palmer and the special teams looked comically AWFUL.

The Raiders brass will not bench Carson Palmer who does NOT fit their system. Terelle Pryor is a perfect fit, he is mobile and he can extend the play. They do NOT want to admit they were WRONG in paying a king's ransom for Palmer.

The offensive line is a sieve and should prevent the Raiders from having any sort of consistency running the ball. So, that means the Raiders are going to be one dimensional with a quarterback that doesn't fit the offense. It's going to be a LONG season.

What fresh hellll is this??

Dude. The Raiders lost by 8 points. The Chargers scored 9 off of 3 botched snaps by a backup long snapper. You do the math.

Palmer didn't throw any picks and there were quite a few dropped passes. He wasn't spectacular, but he didn't lose the game. And the 'inept' offense out gained the Chargers in both rushing and passing.

So, troll on buddy.

Just when I thought it could not go from bad to worse another year.

I don't think Palmer is their problem, but it is hard to tell cuz everything else is in chaos

next think you know he will be Lebron-Modell-Tebow.

6 penalties in one game? I am estatic! that was a typical quarter full last few years. we kept it very close - if not for the darn long snapper mess. after the first one, why couldn't allen send shane and whoever that was outside and practice before the next punt? really - 3 times?

all the guys we lost due to cap reasons (rightly so)......let's not get our hopes up this year. if we can compete and be a disciplined team - watch out next year when we can get back some players!

Me either. 10 PM starting time on the East Coast is too late for me to stay up to watch.

statistic wise the Raiders played a good game, they rushed/pass for more yds then the Chargers, but had a hard time putting it in the end zone. Time will tell.

It is only one game in a long season and too early to push the panic button.

i am a raiders fan, and i think palmer and the play calling were horrible.

palmer looked completely lost, and he didnt seem to try and ever look past his first read. the only reason his stats at the end of the day were ok, was that he kept dumping off to mcfadden.

i know that moore and ford are hurt, but if you dont atleast threaten to take the game vertical, the opposing defense is going to key in on mcfadden all day long. and, if we rely on mcfadden so heavily, not only will they tire him out by the second half, they will get him injured by midseason.

yes, the raiders only lost by 8 points, but that was because penalites aside, the defense looked very tough.

You can blame Greg Knapp for that. The Raiders were just as predictable the last time he was OC. Palmer did what he was told to do - that's the west coast offense in a nutshell. Dink and dunk. And thankfully he didn't throw upwards of 3 picks in the process.

Look, I don't like the play calling and I'm not sold on Palmer. But the thread originator made it sound like the game was lost entirely due to Palmer's ineptitude, which wasn't the case at all.

Reggie McKenzie was a good hire by the Raider's organization and I'm sure he will bring in the talent required to be a consistent contender. Don't expect any overnight miracles and remember Rome wasn't built in a day. Raider's fans should be patient and support the new GM as he is an excellent evaluator of NFL talent.

Who said anything about McKenzie? Knapp was chosen by Dennis Allen.
