Damn damn damn. Such a huge loss for the NFL. Without NFL films, I would never have become the huge football fan that I am today.

RIP Steve Sabol

Well, I suppose FN posting my comment 3 times is okay in this instance.

So much of my fandom is tied to the Sabols and NFL Films... when we were stationed in England we would make it to the NCO Club every Thursday for our fix of "Game of the Week" and "This Week in the NFL". You look back and realize what a profound impact that was and how much it affected your viewing of the game.

Thank you , Mr. Sabol... Thank you very much!

Such a shame. NFL Films had as much of an impact on my love of the game when I was growing up as did watching the actual games. Seeing the footage of players and games from before I was born connected me to the game and gave me a tremendous appreciation for its history. NFL Films' Super Bowl recaps have always been must-see viewing for me in the days leading up to the big game.

Obviously, NFL Films will carry on, but it won't be quite the same without Steve Sabol. Thoughts and prayers to his friends and loved ones.
