NFL  > General NFL  > Cowboys Loss vs. Seahawks
September 18, 2012, 07:09 PM
1st, I didn't see the entire game because I was trying to set up the new TV for the game, but I was lucky that took me longer than I had anticipated. I saw the 4th quarter and there was not doubt that the Seahawks were the most aggresive team. I've heard and saw the "cheap shot" delivered to Sean Lee and I think that it was just hard nose football. Did Ware have the opportunity to knock their quarterback into the seats after the hit on Lee?

2nd, it was a disappointing loss because the Cowboys should have been more prepared considering they had 10 days to get ready for the Seahawks.

3rd, is Witten better with his injury than Phillips? Looks like he is hesitant which probably contributed to the drops.

4th, Demarco Murray only had 12 carries for 44 yards that will not be close enough for the Cowboys to win any game. He needs between 20 and 25 carries if the Cowboys have any chance to win. It might be a passing league, but balance is the key for the Cowboys.

5th, the Cowboys under Romo's leadership don't seam to understand how use momentum and carry it to the next game which leads to the next level.

6th, I read the stat line that the Cowboys had 5 penalties for 47 yards which was a great improvement from the Giants game. But were these pre-snap penalties. Only wish that Romo could draw defenses offsides like the Mannings, Brees, and Brady.

I am hopeful the Cowboys rebound with a big win against the Bucs.

Considering their lack of time with the ball they should have had less pre-snap penalties.

I read an article here at Sports Illustrated, called "One Last Piece is Still Missing for The Cowboys"...............http://thelandryhat.com/2012/09/17/one-last-pi ece-is-still-missing-for-the-dallas-cowboys/.............in case you haven't read it.

It speaks about the WILL to win, or lack thereof. I found it interesting, and it could be one reason our heroes haven't been the same in 16 years or so? Not saying it's the whole enchilada, but it makes sense.

Aren't you just tired of disecting this team? Far too often reality doesn't meet expectations. The team has as much talent as just about any other team yet continually comes up short. While I agree I did think they would be 1-1 after 2 games but with the wins in reverse, this team can never take advantage of an opportunity. They had a good one on Sunday (before the game started) and then let the game literally slip out of their hands. Seattle ran over, ran down and ran through them all day. They showed no toughness for 60 minutes. You don't win in the NFL without it.

If they had great talent they wouldn't have been mediocre for the past decade.

You got anymore brilliant statements? Players need a brain to go with the talent. They have regularly been near the top of the most penalized teams for years.

September 19, 2012  11:03 AM ET

hate to go there..... but i too am wondering about all this "talent" we've had the last 5 yrs. it's just not transulating into wins and at some point you have to question if the talent level is really where people think it is. i also question the leadership. both on the field and off. talent and a lack of strong leadership or no true desire to win, is a path to average play. i just don't see this team with the intensity of the team back in the 90s. but i do agree..... it gets old disecting this bunch. one week they are so efficient and the next it's like they are just going through the motions.

Maybe Jones could hire someone that would make football decisions and he could just sign the checks.

Dump Romo!!!

Yeah, cuz' that's a smart businesss decision at this time. *sarcasm*

We don't need senile JJ goin' after Ryan Leaf or Matt Lienart for some stupid reason. He shoulda drafted a QB this year, even if all he did was use him as a backup to Romo...

So you think Romo is getting the job done?

they've got to begin looking at their future QB.... although i read where JJ is working on romo's new deal since the current contract expires in '13. looking like romo will retire a cowboy. not sure who dallas could pick-up that would be a better option and .500 teams don't get shots at RGIII or Luck type QBs.

Do you think it wise to bring in a new QB at the third game ?

I did not say that and many around here can tell you my feelings on Romo.

I just said it's not a smart business decision at this point.

Exactly...so they need to keep losing and do it "Texas" style ASAP so we can draft the next big QB.

i've said many times as a fan that i'd rather go through a few absolutely horrible seasons (3-4 wins) and be able to draft a franchise QB like Luck or RGIII to build a team around. now, not real sure JJ and staff wouldn't screw up the picks and there's the question of how often are these type franchise QBs available? but that's not likely to happen for us so we will likely stay the course of unpredictable play each week.

Just get used to the idea that Romo is here for the forseeable future. His contract runs through next year but they are supposedly in talks to extend his contract.
