Well, it looks like Liverpool were going to lose for sure without them, but now it looks like we may have a chance. I'm ready for the game tomorrow, are you? Any thoughts about Liverpool/Man. U or Chelsea/Man. City are welcome on this thread. So, what do you think?

Berbatov's debut

Oh man I can't wait, it's gonna be 7:45 on a saturday

Can he be our new Cantona?

Can we carve up the scousers?

Well, we don't even know if he'll play.

As far as Chelsea Man City go, I hope Robinho shows them what they missed out on

I doubt Man. City is ready to compete with Chelsea yet. They'll be lucky to grab a point.

Liverpool v. Man U. is interesting. Man U. did not get off to the best start of the season, drawing with Newcastle. Now they're trying to integrate Berbatov into their first team, despite him being with the team a grand total of what, three days? Normally, it takes a while for strikers to adjust to a new attacking system and the players around them. Still, Sir Alex Ferguson is Sir Alex Ferguson. As for Torres and Gerrard, it is doubtful whether they will play against Man. U. Battling injuries with the first Champions League match of the season coming up, do you play them against Man. U. or get them the extra four days rest and know they are available for the trip to Marseille? Benitez's actions will tell us alot about Liverpool's priorities this season. I think it ends in a scoreless draw.

Interested in seeing what Zola does in his first game as a manager. Aston Villa v. Tottenham could tell us a lot about the battle for a UEFA Cup place. Newcastle is a mess, but should get a win against Hull.

J11 you are right about united not getting off to a good start but if you look at last year they did not either. For some reason we have had Liverpool's number as late. I see that Gerrard adn Torres are fit but what kinda role with they really play? Gerrard has come out already and said he does not feel like he can play in this game. I see them both maybe coming off the bench for a spark in the second half if needed. It is all just mind games to mess with each other Fergi did the same by anouncing all of his 1st team is fit also (including CR7).

Will everyone who predicted that Hull would have 7 points from their first 4 games please raise their hand? Didn't think so. Newcastle is a disaster and might lynch their owner if this continues.

Man City is nowhere near the team that Chelsea is. Robinho is without a great player but he is not yet on a squad that will compete with the big 4 yet. It was very evident in the passing and attacking game that city from player 1-11 are not as skilled as the the rest of the top squads. I don't forsee Mark Hughes being the coach to take them to the next level as well. Frankly I hope City does not splash cash for big name talent without securing positions that need to be evaluated, especially the wings and defense. Fantastic showing by Chelsea, saddend with the loss of Essien, but Ballack, if he is in form like he was at the end of last season, will provide a very formidable attack with Scolari's style. Should be an exceptional season for the EPL. Chelsea look strong out of the gates.
