NFL  > General NFL  > Pats vs Broncos aka Brady vs. Manning

Brady vs. Manning has always been one of my favorite games to watch year in and year out. It's more than a game because these two guys seem to be going head to head every week. There is always that discussion about who is the better quarterback.

Still the rivalry does not feel the same with Manning on the Broncos. You still have the match up between two future HOF QBs but the difference was that it seemed the Colts and Pats were always fighting for home field advantage in the playoffs, so that really added to the battle between the two teams.

Now of course, for the prediction. The Pats offense really seemed to click for the first time this year, and certainly for the first time since Hernandez went down. The Broncos defense is still solid but the Pats figured out a way to make them look mediocre last season. The Patriots are going to put some points on the board, my guess somewhere between 25-32. Meaning this should be a close game. Manning and the Broncos two lowest scoring games came in their two losses when they put up 21 against the Falcons and 25 against the Texans. The Pats defense is somewhere in between the Falcons and the Texans so my guess is the hold the Broncos in the range of 20-28 points. While it should be close I'm going to give the edge to the Pats. They seem poised to get back on track and not fall below .500 for another ten years, while the Broncos are still trying to find themselves.

Now that the Pats have apparently found a running game, Welker is back in the game plan and Hernandez might suit up, this game won't be close. Pats won't fool around like they did in their last home game.

Denver's D was vastly overrated by many people last year. When they faced a team that didn't have their offensive stars banged up, they got torched. Brady lit them up for 5 TDs in the first half of the playoff game last year.

Manning will keep Denver in it and barring a bunch of NE turnovers--Pats will win by at least 10.

Denver's defense is ranked fairly high in most categories but I think that is skewed by the Raiders game. Still they are a fairly decent defense and I don't expect the blow out like last week against the Bills, although it is always a possibility with the Pats. I just have a feeling this will be close despite the Pats being the better team at this point.

Also don't expect Hernandez to play. He is just coming back to practice and is still not 100%. The Pats can hang on without him and I'm sure they don't want the chance of him re-injuring the ankle and making it worse. I doubt they play him and let him heal for at least one more week.

Its really Papa John vs Dodge Dart. Seeing as how the last time I had a Papa Johns pizza it tasted about as good as a Dodge Dart, I gotta go with Brady. Now if its Papa John vs That stupid Tom Brady commerical where he gets a football game going in the airport, its Papa John all the way.

This should be a close game. Why do you think the Pats were fooling around in their last home game?

Broncos/Patriots will be a high scoring game. Patriots have the edge in my opinion. But not by much. It will be a 7 point game or less.

Best QB rivalry ever.

October 6, 2012  05:30 PM ET

Even with the weather forecast I still see both teams scoring between 20-30 points.

As for the Pats messing around I think he means that they did not really show up to the game. Who knows why but it certainly was uncharacteristic of the Pats. I still think it was a combination of McDaniels transitioning into a somewhat different offense, Hernandez going down, and Welker being shunned by Belichick.
