NFL  > Chicago Bears  > Week 7 Detroit in Chicago Monday Night!
October 14, 2012, 10:57 PM
Can it get any better than this? Ok, yea we could be playing the Packers, but hey it's still a very big game as far as the NFC North is concerned.

Detroit is looking to get into first place and to do that they almost must win this game. For the Bears they almost have to win it to keep in first place and set up key games later in the season.

We are almost half way through this season and still are in first place and yet looking at the division any team could end up in any spot considering the way all the teams in this division are playing.

So who's going to win and why? I think the Bears, but give me your reasons and I'll give you mine. Anyone notice the pun? GO BEARS!!!

IMO the Bears need to put together a complete game, the offense always seems to get off to a slow start. The defense has to continue getting takeaways and shut down Megatron and the offense has to continue to be balanced and chew up the clock.

The Bears are looking pretty decent G! I like the way they mix up the pass and run, almost half and half.

Thanks GSH. I'd rather forget that debacle. My brother was at the game . . . texts me at halftime:"24-0 at the half! What can possibly go wrong?"I knew he meant it tongue in cheek, as we've seen the implosion too many times. Was hoping "not this time." As they imploded, piece by piece, man by man, turnover by turnover, missed assignment by missed assignment. Rivers and the O line need to look in the mirror. As much as I like keeping the foot on the gas, you can only do that if you protect the rock no matter what. When Manning scored so quickly in the 3rd qtr I had that sick feeling...the one you get when you KNOW what's coming and you can do nothing but watch the carnage. Oh well, at least the Giants beat the Cardinals. And congrats to Denver for beating the Chargers to a pulp. Painful, but in a way, inevitable.

Sorry for that one Ripper, I thought they had that one in the bag at halftime. I can't say anything you haven't already said except I know and feel your pain.

The pun was based on the old I'll show your mine if you show me yours. Sorry I'm OLD and OLD fashioned.

I will NEVER consider an NFL football game over untill it's OVER. Anyone remember the Mike Brown miracles? There are plenty of other examples EVERY season.

The Bears should win this against the Lions. The only advantage the Lions have on the Bears to me is in the OL, WR and TE department. NOTHING ELSE!!! The Bears have advantages in every other area. Especially in their Defense. The Lions have Suh, but we have a better front 7+ than they do when you consider that we can bring in Wooten and McCain off the bench. Look at the LB's and the DB's and it's no comparison.

On offense we have a better RB stable and that also includes the OL blockers. The OL Pass blocking is better in my mind for the Lions. Stafford and Cutler are EVEN in my eyes. Like I said the Lions have an advantage with the WR's but NOT very much and at the end of the season the Bears might have a better WR corps with Alshon Jefferies and Earl Bennett playing with Marshall. Those three vs Megatron and whoever I think we could win in the end, but NOT YET!!! Especially with Jefferies out now.

Special teams, the Bears have EVERY edge here. I'm waiting for Devin Hester to have a breakout game and this one could be it, but in every other area on specials the Bears have the edge too.

Coaching, I go for the Bears mostly because of Tice and Marinelli. I consider the head coaches about even. So my score is 31-10 Chicago. In Detroit later in the season, you might be able to turn those numbers around but not this one at this time. GO BEARS!!!

I think it's quite finished now, MM. Ouch! That's a "tuck your tail between your legs and go home you loser" loss. Wait, they ARE home. And there is no bright side. Wah!

Yer in great company there,Cincy lost a divisional game too the Browns,so yer loss too a good team isn't as bad as you thought. as we all fall sooner or later.

But take solice in the fact there's 10 more games too make a run of it.
