Hammered...it isn't ESPN..tho they do get blamed a lot.
Imagine if UM looses to TSUN 2-3 yrs in a row...or has a 4-9 record and, of the loses, three are the worst in history (opposing teams scores 65 and 63 twice). Sometimes school pride comes before the money and these things just aren't allowed.
Now, factor in, from what I am hearing, that UM is telling his players that this isn't a big deal, just another game, and keeps the players from contact in practice.
Sometimes it ISN"T about the money, just the pride.
Tho not an alum, I am an Okie born boy, and this does run deep....if it were reversed and Stoops had lost to TU 9 times, his head would be on the block....for an OU coach, you just DO NOT LOSE TO TEXAS...period. I would expect it to be the same at Texas.

That sums up about 90% of it, from what I hear from Tx Exes that I know.
The other 10% is a mix of the "our guys are soft", "telling our guys it's just another game, that is BullShizzlle" and "4 of the worst losses in the entire series are on Mack".
I agree. With the resources and recruits at Texas, you should not lose that bad to a rival regularly. Mack is getting lazy as he nears the twilight of his career. It is time for new management.

4-9 means he wasn't that effective from the beginning..

I like how, in the middle of a football game, they'll scroll football scores then switch to MLB scores then hockey then NASCAR and they even let you know what time Dancing With The Stars comes on ABC. Black plastic sounds like a great idea!
And I share your attitude about ESPN. I only watch ESPN for actual games.

I think Mack bet the farm on the new assistants making a difference. I'm not sure yet if Diaz knows how to teach. The team is still very young (20 of 22 starters will return next year).
Longhorn message boards are calling for Mack's head, and Diaz' too, in the typical 3rd grade overreaction. Suddenly Kirby Smart .... yes Kirby Smart ... is the coach that we need to go get NOW NOW NOW!!!! LOL!

The bias is readily apparent.
Some of the comments broadcast to the nation are quite subtle; others are mildly suggestive; some are downright stunning.
The unbiased viewer is most likely thinking, "Did that reporter really just say that? Did he not just influence the opinion's of a slew of voters with his biased comment?"

But Stoops has been invited to the BCS champ game several times in addition to winning the 2000 season BCS Championship. He's kept Ok at a high level for the past decade.
Mack has had a couple good years the past decade, but with all that money, support and recruits, a reasonable CFB fan could assume better results over a 10 year period.

LOL.. not mack is blaming LHN for taking too much of his time and his assistants. having to tape both ankles of players when only one is injured so as to not allow competing teams to learn about injuries. mack has had two horrible seasons and is on track for a third. and it's not that we are losing, but getting killed in games like the TX/OU is unacceptable. winning big 5-7 yrs ago doesn't guarantee job security. if texas finished at .500 this year look for the heat to turn up on mack to the point where he may find it best to retire!
