NFL  > Green Bay Packers  > Greg Jennings VS. Aaron Rodgers
October 17, 2012, 10:36 PM
I'll just start off by saying THANK GOD for Ron Wolf...and HIS philosophy on how to BUILD a legacy for a team. Something guys like Jones (Cowgirls) and Snyder (Rednecks) have yet to learn. You BUILD a team, and it's chemistry through the draft, and NOT through free agency.

Jennings will LIKELY be gone after this year. Saving money on a guy who is now injury prone, and giving the savings to your franchise player (Rodgers) is OBVIOUS right now. With the emergence of Randall Cobb, there is no need to keep Jennings. It's an ugly truth, but this is a business, and NOT a buddy system.

Ron Wolf has taught this franchise an important lesson, and that is TEAM CHEMISTRY is far more IMPORTANT than PERSONAL greed. You want to win, and win consistently, then sacrifices are made. Jennings will find this out, and the Packers will be better for it in the long run.

Too late in the evening perhaps to post this point, but I gave it a shot. Have a great week people, and a BETTER weekend! GO PACK, GO!

Hey,
ya made some good points, every team has too 'drop' 1 or 2 vets or more every year.

I agree that Jennings will be allowed to test the free agent market. I also think that Jermichael Finley's days as a Packer may be over too. Finley has as many drops as catches and consistently runs the wrong routes. Aaron Rodgers is indispensable and should be signed to a lucrative long term contract.

Ez, the Bengals might be interested in signing Jennings as that would give your team two great young WR's.

Teams need to be built through the draft primarily due to the sheer volume of players it takes to fill out a roster. But you can certainly acquire key pieces via free agency.

I mean... where do you think the Packers found Charles Woodson?

QUOTE(#10):

Agree. Crabtree should get more snaps than he's currently getting. He may not be as athletic as Finley, but he's sure handed. With a QB like Rodgers, that's all you need. Crabtree wouldn't have nearly as many drive killing drops as Finley.

Finley is vastly overrated in my opinion.

I doubt Jerry Jones will learn. I mean, if he hasn't in 17 plus years, then the odds of it are slim to none, with slim being out of town.

Jerry is beyond learning anything.

Ditto, I forgot about that point too. Thanx for the "add" as it were.

OMG that is a GREAT avatar! lol

My point was the Majority of the time you get your chemistry through the draft. Woodson was a good fit because he was a team player, and not a prima donna of sorts. That's all. I always talk about the percentages, and not the one "odd one" that never fits the norm....etc. Thanx for the comment fists of fury. HA!

Depends of his ego.And no, I don't need to call the Packers "****", like you did with the "Cowgirls" and Rednecks". No sense in it. But, if you have the need to do so, then by all means feel free.

Actually I felt bad about that after posting...lol. I actually rooted for the Redskins (along with the seahawks) during the Packers lean years of the 70's and 80's. I wasn't trying to be confrontational, just a weak attempt at comedy relief. lol

Ditto. The Packers den is full, the problem is living up to expectations. I see a April draft full of Defensive players again.

The Packers will not let Jennings go, they are loyal to theirs...
Randall Cobb is not a #1 WR, and if the Packers let Jennings go, I for one will be ecstatic, since he is the main rn my the Packers are dominating the Bears.
