Can't hurt to try.
JJ needs a thoroughly good embarrassment......again.........although I doubt it will do any good.

Hey, they're doing the clown act, not us. When an owner makes stupid statements like;
"For me, it's a reminder. I've been here 23 years. I've been here when it was glory hole days and I've been here when it wasn't. And, so, having said that, I want me some glory hole. So I have that perspective."
JJ wants some glory hole.. He leaves himself open for those kinds of things.

Seriously:
The last 2 Superbowl winners both got hot in November and finished with a 9-7 record.
All the Cowboys have to do is get hot, they have 9 games left, go 7-2 or 6-3.
Assuming the current division winners win their divisions and G.B continues to improve, N.O. does not wake up and Minn. & Sea. do not win out the Cowboys have a real good chance to make the playoffs.
Then all they have to worry about is Minn. & Sea. they trail both by 2 games.
The talent level on Dallas is head and shoulders above Minn. & Sea., the coaching staff not so much.
Personally... it comes down to the game in Philly.
If they throw their panties in the air that weekend, then it's time to seriously consider blowing this thing up in its entirety.
Meaning - you do not resign Romo long term... you start ridding yourselves of the big contracts for under-performing players and change the culture.
Oh - you also fire the damn coach and get someone in here that can ride herd over players prone to making stupid mistakes.

What's the chance of that happening tho? Slim to none, and Slim's out of town. I know what you're saying, Hammered, but the other two SB winners do not have Jerry Jones as an owner.
N.O. could get hot at any moment, Seattle has improved tremendously, as has Minnesota. Whatever is ailing the Cowboys is not on the surface, but in their attitude, or their head. Not sure which, or maybe both, but I see no rhyme or reason for their erratic play.

Jerry Jones loves him some Romo......and Carrot.....I'd bet you a nickle to a donut that he re signs Tony and may extend Carrot's contract..........wouldn't surprise me.. They should be rid of Felix asap, and "His Airheadedness" should be traded for whatever they could get for him..
I'm at a loss for words on what ails this bunch, other than watching ineptness prevail. Starts at the top, tho.

the cowboys getting hot and going 7-2 or 6-3 with the remaining schedule is next to impossible. we'd all love to see it happen, but dallas is not a strong december team.... check the last few yrs in december - it's been bad.
i agree with keith.... suck for the next luck, although JJ will never do this - i'd rather see them go 4-12 and get some real talent then stay .500 the next 5 yrs, which is likely with this bunch. the only problem with this is JJ would probably screw the picks up. the days where we "hope" for a hot streak are long gone for many fans. this team is unique only in finding ways to lose games.
sorry to sound so doom and gloom, maybe it's cause today is halloween LOL. but really, this group may have some talent, but they can't find it for a full 60 minutes. i'd say .500 could be a possibility, but could be worse. only bright spot is i think JJ will get a new HC if things say this bad. garrett has had his run and it doesn't take an ivy leaguer to determine he's not ready to HC any team. romo.... no extension for this guy. let him play out his contract and then see who else wants him after next season. there won't be a long line if he keeps playing the way he'd played this season.

Too bad this makes so much sense which means JJ won't go near this thought process.

Here's what I see happening......... the rest of this year.
The Cowboys end up at 7-9 at best, and that's splitting with the 'Skins and Eagles. It might be worse, but I don't see it better, and that's staying with the status quo, and continuing to play as they have. That's only 2 games better than the Dave Campo years.
JJ will NOT fire Carrot, and likely will re sign Romo. But, he can sign Romo next year, and likely will. He will not get shut of Dez, but may let Fumble Fingers Felix go in free agency....However, Felix is a Jones pick, so he might re sign him as well. JJ is investing a lot of babysitting for Dez, so I don't see him going anywhere any time soon.
Carrot has family members on the Cowboys. John Carrot is the tight ends/passing game coordinator, and their dad was once a scout. Remember, Jason Carrot was hired BEFORE Wade Phillips for a reason. It's a family affair.

I read that article, or one similar to it. It will likely be after 2013 if it does happen. Carrot will be given another year.

I would welcome that since it is very apparent Carrot Top has been in way over his head since day one!!!

Holmgren has a strong personality that would clash with Jones big ego. I doubt that Jones would ever hire a man like that.

I would love to see Holmgren coaching our team but I seriously doubt this will happen.

I heard about this report and I was surprised that Holmgren would still be interested in coaching again. I'm sure this is just a rumor and would be very surprised if he did coach again.
