Vasquez is our point guard, Austin Rivers is not quite ready yet.
great points. Ive thought the same. All this hype about baby boy rivers.........and really i never liked the pick to begin with and thought he was overrated. So far he's not just bad, but a total bust. He is AWF??L. Vasquez has been a pleasant surprise.....so this is not contest. What a wasted pick.
here's the leagues best point guard.. http://www.btasports.com/chris-paul-the-true-point-guard/
Vasquez looks like the starting point guard for the future in New Orleans, Austin Rivers may take a couple of years to develop. But, the Hornets have some solid pieces to build on. Maybe a few more players to give them a spark of the bench would help. Davis, Lopez, Vasques, and Aminu are all pretty solid.
Vasq was a great team player when he was at MD and has been a decent pro. I was mildly surpised that the Griz traded him to the Hornets in December , 2011. Maybe Austin R needs a brief stint in the NBDL.
Vasquez has been exceptional for the Hornets. He will certainly be in the running for the Most improved player award. With his size, length, abilities, and basketball IQ, it would be foolish to let him go, especially for Austin Rivers. Austin Rivers is certainly not PG material. Had you seen him at Duke? His dominating the ball and forcing his offense hurt the Devils more that it helped them. Certainly Coach K was not sheddind a tear when rivers decided to enter the draft.
